COMPACFLEET IS A BOOB
He thinks firing the commander of seventh fleet is a good move. What he utterly failed to get/to understand/to comprehend, is that naval forces are trained and certified by second and third fleets and so, the one that needs to be fired is named Nora and so won't be fired.
If I was president? CINCPACFLT would be putting his resume together and searching for a new job.
I'm like all the old coots that say, "well that didn't happen in my day!"
The fleet I served in had money to burn for fuel and fuel coming out our ears. The current navy is starved for fuel. Synthetic training does now replace real experience driving ships. The only time ships get fuel to steam now is when they are posted to 5th or 7th fleet.
Oh, and their officers suck. I mean they really really suck. I remember sitting next to the COS of the MCM squadron in Korea and hearing him tell his little minions to tell the CO's of MCMs that they were not allowed to so much as put a zodiac in the water without his permission. He was a piece of work. He's probably an admiral.

I STARTED A MOVEMENT ONCE
I also kicked off a couple of phrases. I was a staff officer at Naval Forces Central Command. I was there for one particular reason and I did it. Unlike every other staff officer in Bahrain, I had to go and start up some 5 ton and deuce and a half trucks, a couple of generators and walk a water buffalo every week or two. As the cognoscenti here know, unless you 'exercise' the vehicles and the road gear, they don't work. I had a full set of surveillance gear prepositioned in the Banz warehouse next to ASU. It needed to work. As it happens, we used it, a lot.
Wearing khakis to do this resulted in some really crappy looking uniforms so I started to wear my desert weight nylon ripstop cammo to the office. I was soon joined by the new MCM commodore, then by the EOD officer and finally, reluctantly by the SEAL. We shared an office trailer known as cats and dogs since we were kind of unique.
Soon Admiral Fargo was wearing ripstops and after that, everybody on the staff except the COS. He was the one that stood to argue with the N2 during the admiral's update one day that if we wanted to put ships into the Caspian Sea we could, at any time....dammit. P3 pilot doncha know.
I really shouldn't laugh. He left us in Bahrain to, as I recall, become the same thing to COMNAVFORJAPAN and then left the service, entered the SES and became deputy to the admiral commanding whatnot in Texas where I bumped into him once again. Out there in Japan he relieved a man I knew, from personal experience, to be the stupidest officer in the naval service and that includes the Marines. He competed with J.K Sapp for the title. Unlike Sapp, to the best of my knowlege, Terry never held command.
As I recall, he could read about 4 words/minute. His office floor was stacked waist deep in all the things forwarded to the admiral for his signature. CAPT C never really understood that the job is not to rewrite every damned word, just move them out.
OTOH, I know some parents that never grasped that. My own? They charged my little brother rent and made him pay to install his own phone line. Their revenge? They made me take him to California with me and live in my place. I think parenting classes must teach them to show no mercy. I'm sure glad I never took such a class.
Why we don't stick any ships in the Caspian Sea. A ship would need wheels.

SILENT
Their names need to published. We need to know them, those who stood watch and killed their shipmates.
It was only a couple years ago that the NAVY wanted to promote a man to admiral who shot down an Air Force jet with two men in it and whose promotion was only stopped by the disgust of the public.
All of the fools that killed our sailors need to be named so they can never be promoted, ever. They need to go to jail for about 9 to 16 years.

I KNOW
The headline for the daily mail asks where the fallout crackers went. I know. On a ship very much like the one in the masthead of this magnificent blog, I found the XO, who was notoriously prone to sea sickness, sitting in the wardroom while we were underway heading to Canada in a Force 9 blow. The waves were beating the ship pretty badly and by the end of day, when I took the watch as OOD, stuff was getting torn off the ship by the waves.
However, this is an XO story and so, let us pick up the thread of our earlier conversation where we came across the XO sitting in the wardroom eating something that looked very much like a saltine cracker from a plastic looking envelope of them. They looked like the ones I found in the Fall Out shelter I made my way into in Newport, RI long ago. They had that vintage look to them. They also had little black bugs.
Todd and I left the wardroom without mentioning the bugs the XO was eating while trying to keep down yesterday's breakfast. We did, however, laugh about it. It became a treasured memory alongside the skipper demanding to know over the 1MC, who had peed in his coffee cup up on the bridge and assuring the ship's company that there would never ever be liberty call again until the miscreant confessed. I was sitting in Damage Control Central at the time (AKA wardroom) and my DCA turned to me and said, "I did it 10 days ago when we pulled in to BASREC."
We didn't like that skipper, a lot.

PROMISE
It's a verb. It's also a noun.
I got a kick out of this article.
When I tend to think of lawyers, very very rarely do I think of them, the idea that they are putting in 12 hour days is on par with the dead lawyer showing up at the Pearly Gates, greeted by St. Peter with the words, I thought you were two thousand years old based on the hours you billed. I don't think Peter let the lawyer in. Heaven is reserved for people without sin or at least a damned good excuse.
And truly, when you hear someone talk about the 'high end litigation business', does Kansas spring to mind?
Make no mistake, I lived in Kansas, not once, but twice.
I got a kick out of this article.
More than anything else, this attrition for women was associated with having children. I have spent many, many fruitless hours in my life trying hopelessly to convince highly talented female associates that they really wanted to come back from maternity leave to the 12 hour days and over-the-weekend injunction motions and four weeks on trial in Kansas and leave their little kids at home with a babysitter. It never worked once. The number of women with children who stick with the high-end litigation business for a long term career is very few. What I don't understand is why anybody feels guilty about that or thinks that it is important to change. No, not for what you might think. I thought it was funny for the other obvious reason.

AGAIN
I find this super irritating. Another dozen idiots stood idly by while their ship got rammed. Getting a Fleet OOD letter used to mean something. It meant you could stand the watch, let the captain and crew sleep safe at night and keep the ship off reefs and out of harm's way. Nowadays? It doesn't mean much.
I knew officers who would never ever get that letter because the captain simply didn't trust their judgement. Nowadays......

JUST COLOR ME TERRIBLE
Heedlessly stolen from Instapundit and the Atlantic, this:
This goes on for some time. It’s an attempt at symbolism, I think. A beverage may be useful.
From Oregon, the eclipse will travel through Idaho and Wyoming… Percentage-wise, Idaho and Wyoming are even whiter than Oregon… The few non-white residents of Idaho and Wyoming are not black — they are mostly Latino, American Indian, and Alaskan.
Perhaps this demographic information is all building to some kind of point, a moment of profundity. Any minute now.
From Kansas, the eclipse goes to Missouri, still mostly bypassing black people.Your modern eclipses are obviously racist...and fast.
Surely a contender for The Most Woke Sentence Yet Uttered.
Moving east, the eclipse will pass part of St. Louis, whose overall population is nearly half black. But the black residents are concentrated in the northern half of the metropolitan area, and the total eclipse crosses only the southern half.
Professor Ristroph is of course an educator, a graduate of Harvard.
Via dicentra.
I was just telling my better half about the Air Force officers I was privileged to serve with in JTF A in Cairo West long ago. All of them, according to their biographies, appeared to have Ph.Ds and Master's Degrees in science or engineering or management or ....well, let's just not say. They appeared, on paper, to be way smarter than LCDR Whossname.
I got a call one day in the Joint Operations Center of Joint Task Force Alpha and it was an Air Force officer of some description. I'm not sure which. He informed me that the B-1B bomber on loan from the real Air Force had inadvertently taxied too close to the Armaments Building there at Cairo West, which intruded some goodly distance into the air and thus, well within the envelope of B-1B bombers who are well advised to steer clear of all buildings and this bumbling bomber had hit the building and knocked off what looked to be about 4 feet of one it's wings.
I was insufficiently perspicacious to ask if it could fly on just one full length wing and let him rabbit on. The upshot of his call was that the Joint Chiefs of Staff had to be notified that a Strategic Asset was a little bit broken and would I give them a ring and let them know.
I declined his noble offer and suggested that he do the notifying and testifying himself and if that didn't appeal, maybe have the actual driver make the call. We were much to busy at the JOC to handle unimportant phone calls to the Pentagon. We had 3 powerpoint briefings that needed to be updated and briefed to ARCENT every single day about our fake war in Egypt.
MISUSE A PRONOUN AND GO TO JAIL IN CALIFORNIA
The longer this goes on, the more I'm thinking we are living in the crazy years that Heinlein wrote about. People everywhere seem to be getting down with getting their hate on and making other people criminals, thought criminals and jailable.
I remember my first term at college a long time ago. One of the guys that lived on the same floor was from this incredible golden land with beaches, beautiful scenery, the best schools in the country and where all the kids were a little above average. He was talking about Moonbeam's first term as governor of California before moonbeam went and ruined it with his friends the democrats, socialists, communists, nazis and rakehells and ne'erdowells.
A new bill being considered by the California State Senate would punish people who “willfully and repeatedly” refuse “to use a transgender resident’s preferred name or pronouns” in a public health, retirement or housing institution.I preferred the polite society. I don't know where it went but I do miss it. I suppose, California being California, the far end of the high speed train to nowhere will contain the 2 or 3 polite nice people left in California.

SEGOVIA
I attended Department Head School in my own way. I was young. I lived in the BOQ by the quiet water next to the library and gym. I used to hear the most incredible guitar music from next door. It was another student playing his 12 string guitar and playing Segovia like a master.
I think one becomes an adult when one confesses that you would not give anything to play like that. No. You've got some really awesome things in your life you won't give up on pain of death. I got a couple of those. Well, OK, mabye a couple of dozen.
Still, to play like that. I think it's worth doing. I'm talking about this.
I'd definitely have a lash at it.
Oh, and by the way, if you didn't read Nino Culotta or John Patrick O'Grady, you missed out.

CAN AN ASTRONAUT GET DIRTY SOCKS
Fresh socks made me wonder. Yes yes, I know, dirt is everywhere but it still seems odd. You'd think they could keep their socks clean in space.
On other hauls they receive things like tortillas, toilet paper (Americans are said to prefer a softer texture than their cosmonaut comrades), and fresh socks.

AH, HOUSTON, WE HAVE A LITTLE PROBLEM
The news I read is frequently filled with words of praise for the mystical rail gun the USN is going to arm itself with any minute now. It's a wonderf#uckingment of a weapon. It can reach out and touch somebody really really hard. When it works. People used to marvel at the awesome power of the dreadnought and battlewagon but one of the lesser known history whatchamacallits of WWII is that battleships never fired on other battleships. They were mostly destroyed by Billy Mitchell's little devils long before they could get into battle range of the enemy. There, fixed it.
And so now, the rail gun is going to change naval warfare because, rail gun. You may remember the Russian navy had one of it's frigates and one of its corvettes fire ship killing missiles from almost a thousand miles away and make kills on their targets. What part of thousands of miles of range are we missing out on when we concentrate our research on a weapon that is only good for shooting things within the horizon? You know, that whole curvature of the earth thingie means that the rail guns speedy bullets won't actually hit anything 13 miles away, right? You got that? Shooting over is also called a miss.
Silly naval strategists. The USN doesn't have those kinds of missiles. It might find them useful in a fight.
Speaking strictly as an old fire control officer who thought putting Harpoon missiles in BOL on a snoop tray radar was a good tactic. They may not make it there but they'll die trying.

EUROPE WAS WORTH SEEING
Europe was once a place defined by the characters that lived in those little quaint places like England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal but I don't think I want to visit Western Syria or New Africa. I've been to the middle east and to Africa and I don't ever plan to go there again. If I want to meet surly thugs and muggers I can just cross Van Aken. I don't have to travel thousands of miles to get mugged, mangled, vandalized etc.
If you haven't squeezed Europe into your 'todo' list yet, now would be the time. You want to see it before it becomes Mombasa, Beirut or Kinshasa.
- "The biggest migration movements are still ahead: Africa's population will double in the next decades. A country like Egypt will grow to 100 million people, Nigeria to 400 million. In our digital age with the internet and mobile phones, everyone knows about our prosperity and lifestyle." — German Development Minister Gerd Müller.
- "Young people all have cellphones and they can see what's happening in other parts of the world, and that acts as a magnet." — Michael Møller, Director of the United Nations office in Geneva.
- "If we do not manage to solve the central problems in African countries, ten, 20 or even 30 million immigrants will arrive in the European Union within the next ten years." — Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament.

COOL
If statues came to life and stroked their enemies with a sword like they did in real life. I'd pay to watch that.
HANG ON, THAT'S ME!
I was reading some instapundit just now and Glenn related something about loathsome white nationalists and it struck me like a thunderbolt. He's talking about me! I don't feel particularly vile but my color is mostly white, with some red and brown patches here and there although the brown is really well on it's way to grey and the red spots are just places I've wounded with my fingernails.
I am, however, the color of pale. I served my nation off and on for 40 years while wearing a uniform and if that's not the definition of nationalist, I don't really know what is. I was a motherfearing boyscout for heaven's sake!
So there you have it. I'm a nationalistic person of colors. I own all of them. I confess nothing. I would join my poc bros and rush out and burn a car but most of the nearest ones belong to my sister and her brood and I'm too lazy to walk far enough away to find someone elses car to torch in my self-righteous fury!
That's it! I've had it! You may now color me angry!!!!!!

FADING INTO HISTORY
The East German State recognized their doom when I was born in Nurnberg, Germany. Their feeble attempts to save themselves availed them not. No wall could save them from me.
So, we won the Cold War and Germany lost the real war. Isn't that just like Germany?
Sunday marked the anniversary of the construction of the Berlin Wall, erected in 1961 by East Germany’s Communist government to prevent its captive citizenry from fleeing to the West. In 1989 Germans tore down the wall and then the regime. Germany was reunified in 1990 and in the years since its people have not forgotten the horrors of totalitarianism. If you cock your head just right and look a tiny bit to the right of the light, you can see me and my older sister staring out at you. My parents were in Germany then because our nation and our leaders had committed to defending the West and as a sign of our commitment we had stationed troops all through Germany, prepared to stop the next European invasion. It worked pretty well after I was born and by the time I left the service, the Cold War was over, the USSR was humbled and broken up and things were looking pretty rosey right up until the East Germans elected Angela Merkel and decided that on top of their enormous burden of Turkish-never-Germans they should add a few million ISIS-never=Germans to the mix.
So, we won the Cold War and Germany lost the real war. Isn't that just like Germany?

WHERE THE HELL WERE THE COPS?
This seems to be a dominant question of the day as the truth about Charlottesville becomes apparent to even the dimmest socialist. The national socialists are aggrieved that their plans to hold a rally were a bridge too far for outright thug society and the international socialists are all agreed that the national socialists deserved a good punching and God gives them the right to punch them to death anytime they feel like it, but they are vastly annoyed that the cops stood idly by and let both groups of dimwits struggle in a way that only the stupid and idiotic struggle against reality.
I'm reminded of one of our former high government officials opining about the Iran-Iraq War back in the 1980's. "I wish they both could lose." I shared his wish then and I share it with regard to both groups that battled in Charlottesville last weekend. The level of polite disagreement is only starting to trend up. You won't like it in 12 months when it starts to look like it's peaking. The national socialists really loathe and despise the COMINTERN and intersectional socialists. Both agree that death is too good for the other side.
I'm going to pay a little more attention to the local scene. We held the Republican National Convention here in MetroParkCentralis without incident but I sense that the firebugs of the BLM and International Intersectional Front are going to demonstrate their ire with the government by burning cars that don't even belong to the government. I don't want my poor car to be one of the symbols of their hatred for hatred and intolerance. Pokey doesn't deserve that.

PRESIDENTIAL SHOUTOUT FOR TRUTH
I'm kind of delighted that President Trump took the time and made the effort to point out the truth about the riot in Charlottesville. He said what needed to be said and it's about time somebody did.
“What about the 'alt-left' that came charging at, as you say, the 'alt-right'? Do they have any semblance of guilt?” Trump said. “They came charging with clubs in their hands,” he said of the counter-protesters.
Trump effectively reopened the debate — saying "there is blame on both sides" — despite insistence from politicians in both parties that white supremacists and other racists deserved to be singled out.
“You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it,” he said.
Trump defended the cause of those who gathered to protest the removal of a statue honoring Gen. Robert E. Lee and the Confederacy.
“Was George Washington a slave owner. So will George Washington lose his status?” he said. “What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him? ... You’re changing history. You’re changing culture.”
While Trump condemned the driver who rammed the crowd and killed a counter-protester, he declined to label the action specifically as an act of terrorism.
“The driver of the car is a disgrace to himself, his family and his country,” Trump said. “You can call it terrorism; you can call it murder. You can call it whatever you want.”I'm honestly surprised that the Washington Post of all the Fake News, printed his remarks. I'm pretty sure they thought that by doing so, they would hurt the President.
What the pussy hat wearers say is interesting. The fake news eunuchs are over the moon in their disdain for the truth.
Donald Trump launched an extraordinary and angry defense of his performance in the wake of the Charlottesville riots Tuesday in a free-wheeling, finger-pointing confrontation with the press at Trump Tower.
He lashed out at his critics following a botched response to the weekend's Charlottesville murder, insisting that a violent 'alt-left' mob came to protests ready for war but a dishonest news media is shielding them from blame.
The president even defended elements of the far-right protest, claiming some were 'fine people' protesting against the removal of Confederate symbols.
'You had some fine people. But you also had trouble makers,' he said during a Q&A session in the lobby of Trump Tower – an event that was supposed to be a press event about infrastructure projects.
'You see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and the baseball bats,' he said, describing what he said had happened in the Virginia college town.Honestly? I didn't see a botched response. I saw truth spoken to donkeys.
WHEN TRAN SEES A DARKIE HE HAS TO ACT
This is from the fake news site
“When I see aConfederate White statue in downtown Durham, or really anywhere, it fills me with a lot of rage and frustration,” Tran said.

YOU GOT RUNOVER
Picture the day,
You're out for a walk in your quiet neighborhood and all of a sudden a car out of nowhere, runs you down. You're crippled for life. You sue.
But it was a driverless car. Google drove it, google or tesla made it and the people in it had nadda to do with controlling it when it ran you down in the crosswalk.
Who do you sue?
I'd go for the trifecta; google, tesla, and you.
Something to look forward to! People will be throwing themselves in front of those things left, right and center because, freebies for life!!!!

PEOPLE WHO'S NAME STARTS WITH DAM
COLOR THEM WOKE
There are people who are not as sanguine about nuclear war breaking out as I am. I don't advocate it but I'm not one that can point and shriek at how it will end in tears. The last one didn't. It ended very well indeed. Thank you atomic scientists, Leslie Grove, FDR, and Harry Truman et al. It was a day to remember when we dropped each bomb to end the Second World War.
Yes, yes, I know. The prevailing winds in that region we would dearly like to nuke lie just east of the Gobi Desert and China. Yes, yes, your fluttering hands can stand down now. The prevailing winds in the Spring and Summer always blow to the east and Japan. Wouldn't it be meet if the radioactive after glow of Japan's attempt to extend their co-prosperity sphere encapsulated Japan in clouds of glowing radioactive residue long after they should have profusely apologized for every single one of their war crimes and put to death all the men who executed that policy of treating Chinese and Koreans and Dutch and Americans and British and Russians as less than human?
Well, it has my vote. I herewith offer President Trump my best wishes for a massive nuclear strike on Pyongyang and all of north Korea. In preparation though, I would brush off the plans for evacuating US military and State Department dependants from Japan prior to the atomic attack on north Korea.
Regrettably, it looks like Trump's policy has compelled the ruler of north Korea to pull in his horns and look sheepish. No radioactive winter in the forecast for California.
Now that clash revolves around the potential for an actual war, a nuclear one at that. Because the results would be catastrophic, it is worth recalling how we got to this moment of brinkmanship. So, if it was really truly good for America to drop those two bombs and end a war, why do you suppose the people who have been anti-American all their lives object to us using any other atomic weapons on thugs who have killed millions of innocent people?

GUNS RETURN TO THE MARINE CORPS EXCHANGE
Yes, yes, I know. All of you guys knew about it a long time ago but for me it was news. I stopped by Henderson Hall just to hit the Exchange and have a look at their computer prices when I was amazed to find this sign at the top of the escalator:
I bought my first 1911 model Colt .45 at the Exchange at MCRD San Diego over three decades ago and a year or so later I found that the Marines were no longer in the arms sales business, at least as far as their exchanges were concerned.
I never thought they'd come back to their senses and start selling quality weapons in the Exchange again. In my experience, once a bureaucracy commits a stupid and egregious error it never ever changes its mind and reverses itself. In this case, somebody did and they sell guns at Henderson Hall and that must drive the nuts in the District of Columbia batshit crazy, but that's OK, since the readers of this brilliantly informative blog know, whenever the military holds Twilight Tattoo at Fort Myer all the heavy artillery is pointed directly at the Capital Dome across the river.
There's a certain amount of both symmetry and irony in that. They are firing cannons over the former grounds of a noted Virginian named Robert E. Lee and their weapons are located in the home of the Army of Northern Virginia and pointed right at the heart of the government of the United States. It's the kind of thing that could only happen with a ceremonial unit like the 3rd Infantry Regiment and a certain amount of tolerant acceptance from the various Chiefs of Staff who live in the quarters along the southern edge of the parade ground where they usually hold Twilight Tattoo.

SPOTTED IN ANNANDALE
I took a picture of this car Saturday when I stopped in Annandale to buy some cheese and grapes before taking a massive number of balloons to a birthday party. It didn't strike me at the time that the Human-Rights fascists were not the only ones driving fascist killing machines. I didn't hear about the death and injuries done to fascist rioters by another type of fascist until much later in the day. Still, this pretty much says it all about where the Human-Rights types are coming from and who they hate.
I kind of wonder if the driver took off that little sticker after a man deliberately used his car to run down a bunch of fascist thugs and assholes rioting in Charlottesville just down the road earlier that day. If not, it certainly would break my heart if some fascist tossed a pile of flaming gasoline soaked rubbish into the car the next time it shows up in public.
Lest we forget.
Driver defines fascists as everybody who isn't gay or lesbian or trans. |
Lest we forget.
I forget where I saw it on Sunday as we drove back home from Virginia, but I laughed out loud as I read that it appears that the forces of international socialism just clashed with the forces of national socialism. Could not happen to two more deserving bunches of scumbags.

IT BURNS, OH HOW IT BURNS
There's an allusion to a classic book that has no doubt been whipped off the shelves at progressive libraries at places like Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Evergreen and other special snowfortresses of liberal learning and smartness. Which is why I laughed out loud when I saw this.

AN AUTOMOTIVE MYSTERY
I came across this on the way to University Circle at MetroParkCentralis yesterday. I cannot for the life of me imagine how the one on the left ended upside down. It and the car next to it were the only ones with damage in the intersection.
GOOD PEOPLE TRICKS
I'll be satisfied if my daughter never tries any of the insane ones. Hat tip to Borderline Sociopathic Blog for Boys.

BLEAK HOUSE OF NEGATIVE MORAL REPUTE
There's never a language cop around when you want one. OTOH, who really needs a language cop? After all, that's what we have folks like hardcore fascist lena dunham and the rest of the hysterical fascist liberals and progressives for, to keep us on our toes about minding our Ps and Qs.
I laughed out loud when I was reading The New York Times Ethics columnist in their Sunday Magazine this weekend. He had some "ethical advice" about an everyday sort of common occurrence. I started to wonder if the language I grew up with had changed that profoundly or was this just another one of those routine inconsistencies the NYTs is famous for.
I don't think that the New York Times Ethics columnist thinks that word means what it means. Perhaps they could find a new ethics columnist who actually understands what ethics are. As with slavery and the courts, I think we can draw a very bright line between that which is morally permissible and that which is legally permissible, or, to put it as it was argued, what is not morally permissible even if the law upheld it at some point and declared it perfectly legal.

I'll skip over the so-called "ethical" advice and just lash them with this little quote from the article:
There are practical and legal consequences to consider. I’m not a lawyer, but as a general rule, a father must help support a child even if he didn’t want it. Otherwise every deadbeat dad could claim to be an unwilling one. And of course, he cannot force you to have an abortion. (I am not going to consider the question of whether abortion is morally permissible: You think it is, and I respect that view.)Do you know what the definition of ethics is? Here ya go.

WORD SISTER, PREACH IT
One may reliably place me in the 96% of Americans who don't trust the media in virtually all its forms. Not for nothing did I shake the American media off my shoes like a clingy piece of dog poop. This article from the Federalist gives voice to the main reason I don't pay much attention to anything that comes via the news whether it be NPR on the radio, any TV news and almost any print publication. Don't misunderstand me, I still read an amazing amount of news but I don't pay much attention to anything put out by the American media corps-de-menteurs.
As you can see below, Gizmodo is ranked 10th on her list of lying journalists. The first 9 were even more provoking in their lies and willful and deliberate misstatements of the facts. As with the 'alleged' evidence that the global warmists keep trotting out, they have to keep massaging the data and the facts to fit their models and stereotypes in order to keep the flickering embers of credibility, as they see it, alive. Read the whole article at the link.

10. Gizmodo
The tech news outlet, which was one of the first to break the story of the memo’s existence and print it in full, has since updated the post containing the text of the memo to remove all of the hyperlinks and charts.
“The text of the post is reproduced in full below, with some minor formatting modifications,” the post states. “Two charts and several hyperlinks are also omitted.”
A quick look at Gizmodo’s modified version of the memo versus the actual memo shows that the media outlet removed nearly all of Damore’s supporting evidence. Was this an effort to make the memo seem less credible?
The headline certainly doesn’t help Gizmodo’s case: “Exclusive: Here’s The Full 10-Page Anti-Diversity Screed Circulating Internally at Google.”
This is why only 4 percent of Americans have a “very positive” opinion of the news media: they subvert the full truth in order to serve a political agenda. All of them do of course but only an idiot would believe what he reads or hears in the news.

PRICELESS
This wonderful story is absolutely fantastic and made my day. Read the whole story. It's a hoot.
UPDATE:
Doesn't your heart just bleed for them? Look at their neighbors, the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Presidio Golf Club.
Thanks to a little-noticed auction sale, a South Bay couple are the proud owners
of one of the most exclusive streets in San Francisco — and they’re looking for
ways to make their purchase pay.
Tina Lam and Michael Cheng snatched up Presidio Terrace — the block-long,
private oval street lined by 35 megamillion-dollar mansions — for $90,000 and
change in a city-run auction stemming from an unpaid tax bill. They outlasted
several other bidders.
Now they’re looking to cash in — maybe by charging the residents of those
mansions to park on their own private street.
Those residents value their privacy — and their exclusivity. Past homeowners
have included Sen. Dianne Feinstein and her financier husband, Richard Blum;
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi; and the late Mayor Joseph Alioto. A
guard is stationed round the clock at the stone-gate entrance to the street to keep
the curious away.
So imagine the residents’ surprise when San Jose residents Cheng and Lam woundDid you ever wonder how all these democrats who spent a lifetime in 'pubic service' always seem to end up worth millions and are the dominant fat cats in every municipal puddle? We should pass a law forbidding them to own houses worth more than their annual salary and limit that to no more than $100,000/year and we should also forbid them to own guns or speak in public. I mean, why not do to them what they do to us?
up with the street, its sidewalks and every other bit of “common ground” in the
private development that has been managed by the homeowners since at least
1905. That includes a string of well-coiffed garden islands, palm trees and other
greenery that enhance the gated and guarded community at the end of Washington
Street, just off Arguello Boulevard and down the hill from the Presidio.

GORE BLOWN AWAY AT BOX
I think it is kind of funny that the new Weathermen will downplay the utter failure of Gore's latest pack of lies to lure audiences into the theater to be lied to again. What is really funny is how they're going to have to spin it after the buildup they awarded it all by themselves.
Gee, do you suppose that failing to fill the theaters shows Donald Trump and the rest of the sane people don't believe in the scary BS future Al Gore and the criminal climate data pirates at the various universities here and in Britain have been pitching for over a decade? I'm sure that's not how they're going to pitch the failure of the masses to show up and urge a climate revolution before, for the 322nd time in this century, it is TOO LATE TO CHANGE!!!!!
OH NO! The world is doomed.

NEW HEADQUARTERS FOR THE FBI
I see that the Senate is slowly moving, like a glacier, towards the idea of giving the FBI what it craves and that is a new office building where they can be all kinds of secret agent/killer sniper/rambo stokers and why not. Surely their current headquarters aptly named for the founder and long time fuhrer of the FBI, Edgar Hoover, is replete with ghosts and failure as they failed to notice just about every single spy in this nation's history and whose only claim to any kind of fame left with lliot Ness and he actually pre-dated the FBI.
That said, I'm in favor of giving the FBI the new building it deserves and needs and with that I place my full support for building the brand spanking new FBI HQ in El Paso, Texas. That will put them right there on the front lines on the War on Drugs, War on Poverty and the War on Terrorism and it's not like they really ever accomplished anything in Washington, DC. In all the time they've been there I don't believe they've discovered a single crooked Congressman, Senator, Judge, Presidential candidate or even noticed that the Mayor was a frequent star in crack cocaine movies.
If they feel that El Paso poses too many problems on account of crowd density and such I'd be OK if they built it in Juarez. That way, maybe Trump could get Mexico to pay for it.
Somebody with access to them is leaking the complete transcripts of the President's phone calls with other heads of government and state and the FBI and the rest of the clowns in the swamp seem to be taking a hands off approach to solving these crimes. They don't appear to be doing anything. As it happens I believe what they are doing is treason and should be treated as such.
The editors of the Washington Post and the writers responsible should be forced to tell who is feeding them these classified documents and if they refuse they should be locked up for contempt for about 7 years. I have no problem with that at all. After all, when is the last time the 'so-called press' leaked anything detrimental to any democrat or liberal politician?
These guys in the media are no different than the Communist Party and their goal is exactly the same, they want the destruction of the United States and a revolt against the duly elected President. Let them enjoy a little vacation and gain a sense of perspective. It will do them good and it will improve the level of civility and reason in our country.
They can also either lock up or shoot down all the fascist rioters from Antifa. I'm indifferent but shooting them is cheaper.

IT'S TWUE IT'S TWUE
I was reading this article about the death of science in Britain and read a few of the comments. One comment caught my eye and I decided to see if it was true. Here is the comment,
I typed it into google exactly as it appeared above and found that it was just so. What a strange world it must be at Google. It might have something to do with the culture that generated a 10 page observation on diversity at Google from within Google. A different world.

WHAT A FOUL TRIBE
I'm glad he's not in my tribe. If he truly had a point, one could redirect the argument to Tribe and ask how much of his money comes from Federal grants because it takes the intellect of a beetle to call politcal foes unhuman. Why, that's not even a hop, skip or jump from declaring them anathema and ordering their wholesale extermination. I wonder if he thought about that?
Perhaps, he later deleted his stupid little tweet but without apology, after all, who apologizes to animals or monsters.

THE CORRIDOR OF FIRE
This is an interesting loop of the corridor of fire. In the nuclear war which hasn't happened, the brightest lights were going to infinitely brighter for a series of instant and then darken to nothing at all once the fires burned out. It makes it easier to visualize when seen at night. Very glad it didn't happen.

INTEROPERABILITY
It's to laugh. The unnamed Pentagon fool claims the Russian air defense system Turkey wants to buy is not interoperable with NATO. It better be. If our aircraft threat detection systems don't give a warning when this thing is locked on to them, what good are they, even if they are interoperable?
I will have more about interoperability in a while.
