I caught a less serious one of JP'S inspirational videos at somewhere tonight but I like this one better.
They are wonderful sincere send ups of some of the things that irritate the hell out of normal people and I write that after living on and off in SOCAL for 30 years.

A LUCRATIVE NEW FIELD
It appears to be the new policy of the Association of American Medical Colleges to make all future candidates taking the MCAT answer deeply personal questions about their background, upbringing and personal experiences. What a crock.
Given that this is exactly the kind of unethical game the left plays all the time and that they also encourage and justify letting people self-identify as women or black or whatever they feel like, why not have a new company, sort of like Kaplan Test Prep Courses, that will prepare all MCAT candidates for getting through the MCAT successfully even if progressive treasures like Dr. Darrell Kirch politicize the living hell out of the test and the process for selecting future doctors in America.
It's pretty simple, everyone taking the test self-identifies properly for whatever benefits them the most. There's even an example from our past.

NEVER A DREAM
A VW Bus and California. They went together like nothing else in the world. It was the last vehicle I owned that I could repair with the tools I owned. I commuted between the Bay Area and San Diego for 5 years along the Coast Highway and Big Sur in an orange VW bus with a red door.

MY COMBAT LOAD
I noticed earlier this weak (sic) that the USMC has derated some of its physical fitness measures of young officer effectiveness. They claim they are only acting out of a higher sense of moral purpose and fairness. Heretofore, young Marine Officers were rated on their ability to hike zillions of miles with their normal combat load.
I thought I would share an image of my combat load as I led my shipmates to victory in the Persian Gulf and elsewhere. Hold on, it's a brutal image.
Mind you, I did have a .45 hanging in its holster on a hook on the door to my stateroom. Just in case.

WORLDWIDE RETALIATION
I had a moment of introspection tonight not seen too often around these parts. I was reading the story about a software engineer who is suing his former company for firing him illegally and I thought I might write more about that and what I think about a company that is so blatantly and disgracefully racist and sexist and then I thought about what I would lose if that company behaves in the disgraceful and contemptible manor I have come to expect from social justice wrecked institutions like twitter and face book and SFWA and I decided that I would wait until I have stored my online email offline and perhaps backed up one or two other things that could vanish in a twinkling were some SJW loser to take umbrage at being called a spade just because he is used to dig latrines in which to bury his fellow man after the ritual pummelling and social torture meted out to those who dare to dream that America could be great again.
I shall say more anon.

AH, NOW THEY BELIEVE IN "STATES" RIGHTS
The states of the Union shown in shades of green believe that the "State" compels the union to go along with any little thing that the "State" holds as lawful and that the "Union" can go screw itself.
As I recall, that was the basis and even the foundation of the entire complete War Between the States. The state government of South Carolina was so disconnected from reality that it ordered its troops to open fire on Fort Sumter because, "states rights.
UPDATE: It looks like the US Attorney General has decided to enforce federal law on drugs after all.
I suspect that it will be California that fires the first shot in the next Civil War because, LGBTQ, dreams of aliens, and general overall Democratic stupidity. You remember the Democrats right? They were the party that ruled the South for generation after generation and opened fire on Union soldiers manning an American fort in the United States of America back in 1861. You might have read about it or seen it on tv.
We're not looking so united anymore are we?
It's interesting, to me, that Dixie is holding out and letting the revolt pass them by. Illinois on the other hand, hasn't yet figured out a way to monetize the legal sale of pot that will put all the proceeds into the hands of the state employee unions or the government's coffers.
I will offer this bit of wisdom, once you go green it's a slippery slope and you can never look back again when the next little bit of monstrous legislation passes the bar. I played that game in California once upon a time when the Cali Southern Air Quality Board was given access to a US Military Base and informed me that it would fine me $1500.00/day for each diesel generator of more than 35bhp. I told them to get lost since the laws that governed us were federal laws and not the BS that Sacramento passed off as law.
My so-called chain of command bailed on me. They promptly took all my 30kw generators and shipped them out of state and replaced them on a one for one basis with utterly worthless 15kw generators. I pointed out that the SCAQB didn't convince the USMC Tank Platoon co-located with us to get rid of their M60 tanks or any of their other diesels. My chain of command worked really really hard to earn the contempt they so justly merited from just about everybody.

AS SILENT AS A MARIACHI BAND
Bloomberg wrote this pathetic story about Silent Bob Mueller and it is remarkable how far the famed press has fallen. They can't even see the truth from the pit they now dwell in. Here's the headline:
Mueller's Silence Cuts Through Noise of Trump Russia Inquiries
Through all the controversy, threats and noise surrounding the Trump-Russia investigation, one person has been conspicuously silent: Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The former FBI director hasn’t uttered a single word in public since he was appointed in May to lead the probe into Russian meddling in the U.S. election despite increasingly combative attacks by Republicans and their allies on the FBI, the Justice Department and the integrity of his probe. There is not a single word about the fact that Mueller's probers are leaking like the Titanic at every opportunity and have, in fact, never missed an opportunity to leak any damaging little thing they turn up so the press always knows what Mueller's up to even if he keeps his own dishonest lips zipped.
It’s an intentional strategy meant to convey the investigation’s credibility and seriousness in an age of 24-hour noise, amplified by cable news shows and Twitter, according to current and former U.S. officials who know Mueller personally or who have followed his work.
Mueller has avoided those pitfalls. He’s provided no ammunition to fuel Trump’s tweets and given no traction to Republicans who are trying to discredit the investigation of Russian interference in last year’s presidential campaign and whether anyone close to Trump colluded in it.Srsly, Bloomberg has joined the New York Times, Newsweek and Time as a worthless waste of time, money and paper. They claim that Mueller's personal silence conveys the probity and seriousness of the bogus Russian Trump collusion and fail to note that it was the FBI and Democrats who created GPSFusion and it's dossier and brought the whole charade to undead life. It's no longer even worth opening the link to a Bloomberg article on anything. If they can miss the entire story about the insane bias of the team Mueller hand-selected to go after Trump and claim that Mueller is above it all, they can probably fail to notice a 3,000 point drop in the Dow.

DESERT PASSAGES
I went to Las Vegas about 15 years ago and the person I was with wanted to see the local Bebe store which was located in this strange place called Desert Passages. We tracked it down and entered and I was entranced. It's not everyday (never) that one enters a world out of fairy tale.
It's an amazing place and well worth a couple minutes of your time in Las Vegas the next time you're there. What can I say, painted sky, twilight, a river running all the way around it and it rains from time to time. My kind of place. Civilized.
I hope that it has borne up well over the last 15 years. It's not the kind of thing we'll ever see again.

NINNIES AND MORONS
I find the discussions I read about net neutrality amusing because I was there at the beginning as were many of you. I started up on the internet with a 2400 baud modem I got from my brother-in-law who had just upgraded. After a while I upgraded to a faster dialup modem because that's how my finances rocked. I could have paid over a $1000 for a T1 line but it probably wasn't available in my neighborhood and I couldn't afford it and I moved often enough that it was too ridiculous to contemplate.
The FCC repealed Net Neutrality today and returned the internet to the shape it was in before fascists struck and took over running everything for their benefit and their profit under Obama. We have returned to the light and I can't see why so many people are caterwauling about how the internet is ruined now, just ruined!
I don't see exactly why people are moaning about having to pay for what they get. The ISP spent the big bucks, in fact, the only money, to install internet service across the country and then they lose customers who whine about the slowness because everybody and his uncle is downloading movies. Everybody in the real world knows that you pay for the bandwidth you use. (Does not apply to radio or TV stations that don't have to pay a dime).
I looked at the NN rules Obama threw into the gears as nothing but a very serious attempt by him, to force ISPs to upgrade their networks in order to accommodate more and more traffic driven from google, netflix, amazon, facebook and the rest of the billion $ companies who won't be required or expected to pay a dime to subsidize the network infrastructure. That's what net neutrality was all about. It was seizing control of the assets of the ISPs and turning them into unpaid adjuncts of the DNC funding giants of the internet.
The toll road analogy is pretty much spot on. You can take the interstate or you can go faster and save time by paying extra $ to the company that built the toll road and get to the same destination faster. The thing about the analogy though, is that we all pay for the interstate at different rates. Tractor trailers pay a lot more money to use the highway than you or I do because they cause significantly more wear and tear on the roads. That sounds fair to me and,
The truckers aren't really the ones paying those higher fees and tolls because the trucking companies pass those right along to the businesses that hired them to move heavy bulky goods over the roads. In other words, it's about as neutral as you can get and the options are reserved to the consumers. Why would anybody think that was some sort of nightmare scenario?
I listened to NPR again this morning and yes, I know, it's bad for me, but they had on the usual gaggle of ignorant pissant experts from the extreme left who argued that we should be more like parts of Europe where the internet consumer is protected from the thieving ISPs by being able to take their business to other vendors and say that we in 'merika can't because thieving ISPs and consolidation of ISPs.
They all think we're rubes but they never lived in small towns in America and I've lived in a bunch of them and I know for a fact that as the internet was rolling out those towns all viewed it as a one time cash cow and so they all SOLD the rights to install to one vendor who made the 'best offer' to pay for the privilege of wiring up the place. In some they sold it to different ISPs one neighborhood at a time.
You should see the crap they pulled when it came to overheading the internet on municipal utility poles and how every single time the vendor included a non-compete clause restricting net access to just his/her service. Gads, before the real broadband I used to move frequently and every time I moved I moved to a neighborhood that, as usual, had just one provider and it was always a different provider.
I moved from West Oakland to Emeryville and from there to Solana Beach and from there to Del Mar Heights and from there to Encinitas and every single time, I left my email address behind because it could not be transferred into the new town until yahoo and then google mail rolled out. My employer was our Uncle Sam and his IT people did a lot more than frown at people who used .mil accounts for personal business.
In what other realm do these ninnies who are outraged at the revocation of NN object to pay to play? They eat it up if it means bribing Hilary Clinton to get access to the State Department and change our policy all over the world. They have no problems with pay to play at the DNC or whatever the rethuglicans call the losers running their national campaign. Every single person in America knows that people only give money to congressmen and senators because they expect and get a quid pro quo.
At this point, I will pause and listen to what you have to say.

OH BOG
You just know that they are going to appoint some hack lawyer like, oh I don't know, Weinstiein's lead counsel, as Special faux Prosecutor and it will be over and done in a month with a no harm/no foul investigation. If they can't get that lying dirtbag it will be one of Hillary's lead lawyer friends like Cheryl Mills or Comey.
At this second, I cannot think of a single person who that spineless jackass Sessions could appoint with any hope of justice.
Oh, yeah, sure, him. That guy would weld those fuckers to their crimes but no recent former employees of the Department of Faux Justice are allowed by the likes of the cronies who all conspire to run what we laughingly call the Department of Justice.
The guy I'm thinking of, sounds like, rhymes with Christian?
Sessions will do this when HELL freezes over. He's not the leading political pussy of the millennium without good reason.
I suspect that about 1 reader sees the wordplay sometimes. I'm only guessing. Almost nobody ever comments on it. If I worked for a boss utterly concerned with the bottom line and concerned about the misuse and abuse of electrons, I'd persist. I'm persistent.

I CAN SEE WHY THE ARMY GAVE UP
I didn't bother to read the article about the Army deciding to let in more criminally insane or simply insane losers like the one the Air Force hired who went on to massacre 26 people and shoot another 27 because he felt like it after they decided to do the sane thing and kick him out. I mean, why bother?
Drudge pretty much nailed it in the usual fashion. These are who the Army thinks belong in the Army, alongside their Air Force brethren because, "hey! who says you have to be normal to fit in?"
Juxtapose leads to ontology or whatever.....

WHY WE HAVE ROPE
I saw this at another blog and thought about it for a second. It's true. I too, never voted in another California election after this happened but then, my vote never counted there and by the time the primaries reached us, the country had already winnowed it down to one die-hard commie and one loser moron. It really wasn't worth the trouble, but most especially after Prop. 8 got tossed AFTER THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR IT.
Just remember when people tell you elections matter that it is your duty to vote for the party that doesn't always use the courts to legislate. Why would you give up all your power as a voter to a non-elected lawyer who finds penumbras or whole-heartedly believes in discrimination now! Discrimination tomorrow! Discrimination for 20 more years!
Srsly people, it's time to take back the power of the people. Imagine, you let an Ethics Body of this Congress or the last 10 Congresses, toss out the will of the voter because a handful of politicians held that the voters had elected an unethical man. It's not like THEY EVER DID.
Vote for Ray Moore or don't. I don't care. I just despise the way the democrats keep leaping to any and every way to disenfranchise the voters. It's not enough that they encourage their true believers to shoot and kill republicans, they keep wanting to use law to make republicans ineligible to play in politics.

FILE SUIT FOR FUN AND PROFIT
Now is the time and here is the place.
If you are a white male you have undeniably been victimized by the casual racist, misandry, bigoted and sexist policies enacted by every layer of government in this country and in most of the fields of academic and business endeavor. Your input or participation is openly scorned and forbidden by official representatives of the government and the various colleges, universities and business and NGO's that do business in the United States.
The Democrats are not the only organization that openly discriminates in the most blatant and openly officious manner possible while expecting to get away with it like they're the incarnation of Roman Polanski or Harvey Weinstein and free to screw over white men with nary a hint of guilt, remorse or even a troubled conscience. They're like sharks.
In all honesty, just about every organization in America that hires or fires people tends to obsess first over the race and then the sex and ethnicity of their employees. Now the shoe is pinching the other foot. Just think of the fun you can have by using some of the enormous number of tools at your disposal such as nolo.com and cheaply and easily filing suits in the federal courts and with the EEOC. Hours of fun and making your leisure time productive, all while working at home!
Remember, if you don't exercise your federal rights they get all flabby and unsightly, so file early and file often!

HIDING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The morons in charge of the episcopal church in Alexandria attended by our first President who was a member for over 20 years and to which he repaired every Sunday when he was in residence at Mount Vernon, have decided to throw out the plaque on their wall honoring his memory. They claim to have acted so because they are afraid slaves will object to honoring the Father of our Country because, slaves are like that. Evidently, you can take the man out of chains but you cannot take the slave out of the man, or some sort of gibberish like that was their apparent reason for acting like knaves and degenerates afraid of their shadows.
President George Washington visited the first synagogue in the New World a long time ago. There is a special plaque to commemorate his visit to the Touro Synagogue which visitors can see when they visit. Somehow I doubt that they plan to remove or hide the plaque out of some idiotic sympathy for ignorant idiots who prattle on about history and yet retain a massive ignorance of the subject. The tour guide, as is usual with tour guides showing off a building or domicile that Washington visited or spent the night in, was delighted to show us this plaque and other objects from Washington's visit there.

Washington's letter to the synagogue after the visit included, "The Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens in giving it on all occasions their effectual support."
The Little Lickspittles of the Episcopal Church are Invited to Hide This George Washington Commemorative!
UPDATE: It's easy to see why the Episcopal Church threw George Washington under the bus. You might have known it would be that easy. I wonder when they're planning to throw out Jesus Christ for being a man, semi-divine and the son of God. With them, it's just a matter of time and most of their peers are equally barking mad.

"NICE LOOKING SHOTGUN",
said the main-stream news expert on firearms. Srsly, they have powers of observation frequently observed in blades of grass. One has to wonder if they ever report anything factual, truthful or honest. All of them somehow failed to notice that Hollywood is run by powerful men who hold the power of fame and stardom in their pants and have never done anything but gush about the bare minimum actresses adorn themselves with clotheswise while carefully never mentioning how the rich and powerful moguls always seem to have some young starlet on their arm at all those Hollywood self-congratulatory celebrations where they give each other prizes for some fairly dismal performances.
Wouldn't you think there would be some years in the history books where they got together and decided absolutely nothing at all that year measured up to the standards set by winning films and artists in previous years? Yeah, it would never occur to them to wonder. They lost their sense of wonder the first time somebody took them aside to explain why that actress kept saying such nice things about that producer even though it was widely known that he was a rapist.
I see Mark Steyn in now enjoying his sixth year with the DC Courts as he waits for them to get moving on the case launched against him by that titan of mistruth and misdirection, Mann. I don't know that the wheels of justice turn at all anymore in this country unless they are well lubricated with the blood of innocent, but poverty stricken defendants, who could not get out of the way fast enough when the law came knocking.
Watching the dismal show of some of the most venal self-serving chief lawmen to ever live in this country while they "investigate" Russian collusion with the Trump campaign even though they winked at and totally ignored the total corruption of the democrats and the Clintons in the Uranium fiasco is getting hard to tolerate anymore. I think Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein and all their loyal assistants need to be rounded up and confined for a very long time for fraud and abuse of a public animal. God knows they've disgraced the donkey that hired them and they are totally failing to kick the ass they're investigating. What a pathetic herd of scum.
We used to be better than this.
I daresay most of you have noticed that the picture above contains no shotguns. Or, as CBS would have it, 'it's clearly a bolt action automatic shotgun.'

THE UNIVERSAL REVOLT
Every now and then I run across the tatters of the old universe and it strikes a chord. Today I read that some Congressional democrats have declared that hi-capacity magazines kill people. I was touched by their concern and their obvious intelligence as they quickly concluded that the best way to save lives is to banish hi-capacity magazines because that's what they do. In the same vein, they might consider liquidating everyone over the age of 18 since older people do most of the killing.
In a similar vein, I ran across the People's Radio today and their show with Mike, the AG from Mississippi, a state that would otherwise never trouble to pass the lips or indeed the thoughts of a true liberal progressive democrat so lost to modern democracy is it that even the cows reliably vote rethuglican. Mike, the guy who was the very first to launch the anti-smoking campaign, sued big tobacco and won, sort of. Instead of outright declaring tobacco illegal like everything else, the government and the lawyers decided to milk it for the money that was in selling a product to the addicted. They are no different from pushers. They'll use the revenues for good, they said.
Mike has a new campaign and is launching a war on the makers of pain medication and doctors who write prescriptions for people in serious pain. Mike thinks we can make opioids just as safe and legal and rare as abortion, or something like that. Man sounded like a complete lunatic as he declared war on the number one, in big pharma, to make and market Oxycontin and who now sells a whopping 2% of the total number sold. Mike is devoted to ending the opioid epidemic-in which ruthless bloodsuckers and their lawyers make a sort of opioid, add lethal amounts of fentanyl and sell it to poor white trash too stupid and ignorant to know that it's going to kill them.
I was left to wonder why nobody made the observation that it wasn't the doctors or the drug companies that were selling the illegal crap, it was real scum of the earth types that the liberal progressives are busting their humps to let out of jail and never send to jail because there's nothing wrong with selling drugs and we should just legalize them and let the sellers sell what the want or what they can make.
I have several problems with all that. When government gets involved and things promptly go in the sewer or, as in Flint, in the potable water, nobody is ever held accountable. Let's just look at the Federal assault on a religious sect in Waco all those years ago. Biggest mass killing in America since the Indian Wars and yet nobody was punished or found at fault or fired or anything. Ditto the EPA fiasco where they blew a hole in a cofferdam and killed a river. Nobody was fired or disciplined or punished. Look at AMTRAK. They sell burgers at $10.00 a pop and still lose $10,000,000,000. There is now loose talk about creating a non-profit like AMTRAK to take over the running, staffing and management of the US Air Traffic Control System. That's right you are thinking, you're gonna work out some other way to get there rather than fly.
I really don't think we can afford to let these idiots mess with our water, our energy, our vital fluids, our drugs or our air traffic control. At any rate, as I thought about the ridiculous depths of this day I was reminded of that great radio show and yes! They are talking about making a 6th radio episode with the original cast back as Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect and Zaphod Beeblebrox. I'm not sure about Trillian.
Cast your minds into the past and read:
NARRATOR:
’The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ has this to say about the planet of Golgafrincham: It is a planet with an ancient and mysterious history, in which the most mysterious figures of all are, without doubt, those of the Great Circling poets of Arium. These Circling Poets used to live in remote mountain passes where they would lie and wait for small bands of unwary travellers, circle round them, and throw rocks at them. And when the travellers cried out saying ‘why didn’t they go away and get on with writing some poems instead of pestering people with all this rock-throwing business,’ they would suddenly break off and sing them an incredibly long and beautiful song - in which they told of how there once went forth, from the City of Vassillian, a party of five sage princes with four horses. The first part of the song tells how these five sage princes - who are, of course, brave, noble, and wise - travel widely in distant lands, fight giant ogres, pursue exotic philosophies, take tea with weird gods, and rescue beautiful monsters from ravening princesses, before finally announcing that they have achieved enlightenment and that their wanderings are therefore accomplished. The second, and much longer part, tells of all their bickerings about which one of them is going to have to walk back. It was, of course, a descendent of these eccentric poets who invented this curious tale of impending doom which enabled the people of Golgafrincham to rid themselves of an entire useless third of their population. The other two-thirds, of course, stayed at home and lived full, rich, and happy lives until they were all suddenly wiped out by a virulent disease contracted from a dirty telephone. Meanwhile, Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, and an Ark-load of frozen middle management men have crashed into the prehistoric dawn of a small, blue-green planet circling an unregarded yellow sun at the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral Arm of the Galaxy. After a year or so they convene a meeting to consider their position, which is not, on the whole, good…
CHAIRMAN:
Listen! I would like to call to order the five-hundred-and-seventy-third meeting of the colonization committee of the planet of Fintlewoodlewix. And furthermore -
FORD:
Oh this is futile! Five-hundred-and-seventy-three committee meetings and you haven’t even discovered fire yet!
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
If you would care to look at the agenda sheet -
GUY:
Agenda rock, yes…
FORD:
Oh, go on back home or something will ya?
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
…you will see that we are about to have a report from the hairdressers fire development subcommittee today.
HAIRDRESSER:
That’s me.
FORD:
Yeah well you know what they’ve done don’t you? You gave them a couple of sticks and they’ve gone and developed them in to a pair of bloody scissors!
MARKETING GIRL:
When you have been in marketing as long as I have, you’ll know that before any new product can be developed, it has to be properly researched. I mean yes, yes we’ve got to find out what people want from fire, I mean how do they relate to it, the image -
FORD:
Oh, stick it up your nose.
MARKETING GIRL:
Yes which is precisely the sort of thing we need to know, I mean do people want fire that can be fitted nasally.
CHAIRMAN:
Yes, and, and, and the wheel. What about this wheel thingy? Sounds a terribly interesting project to me.
MARKETING GIRL:
Er, yeah, well we’re having a little, er, difficulty here…
FORD:
Difficulty?! It’s the single simplest machine in the entire universe!
MARKETING GIRL:
Well alright mister wise guy, if you’re so clever you tell us what colour it should be!
FORD:
Oh Mighty Zarquon! Has no-one done anything?
MARKETING GIRL:
And of course Finlon the producer has rescued a camera from the wreckage of the ship and is making a fascinating documentary on the indigenous cavemen of the area.
FORD:
Oh yes, and they’re dying out, have you noticed that?
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
Yes we must make a note sir to stop selling them life insurance.
FORD:
But don’t you understand? Just since we’ve arrived they’ve started dying out.
MARKETING GIRL:
Yes! Yes! And this comes over terribly well in the film that he’s making. I gather that he wants to, eh, make a documentary about you next captain.
CAPTAIN:
What? Oh. Oh really? That’s awfully nice.
MARKETING GIRL:
Oh, he’s got a very strong angle on it: you know the burden of responsibility, the loneliness of command…
CAPTAIN:
Ah well I wouldn’t overstress that angle you know, I mean one’s never alone with a rubber duck…
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
Er, sir, er, skipper?
CAPTAIN:
Want a squeeze, eh?
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
Um listen, if we could, er, for a moment move on to the subject of fiscal policy -
FORD:
”Fiscal Policy”?!
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
Yes.
FORD:
How can you have money if none of you actually produce anything? It doesn’t grow on trees you know!
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
You know If you would allow me to continue!
CAPTAIN:
Yes let him to continue.
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
Since we decided a few weeks ago to adopt leaves as legal tender, we have, of course all become immensely rich.
FORD:
No really? Really?
CROWD MEMBERS:
Yes, very good move…
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT:
But, we have also run into a small inflation problem on account of the high level of leaf availability. Which means that I gather the current going rate has something like three major deciduous forests buying one ship’s peanut. So, um, in order to obviate this problem and effectively revalue the leaf, we are about to embark on an extensive defoliation campaign, and um, burn down all the forests. I think that’s a sensible move don’t you?
MARKETING GIRL:
That makes economic sense.
[Murmurs of agreement from crowd]
FORD:
[Yells] You’re absolutely barmy! You’ve a bunch of raving nutters!
POWERFUL TRUTHY WORDS ON EDUCATION IN AMERICA
Ripped off at Traditional Vibe.
The left has pretty much destroyed any value their children might have ever seen in the United States. As they waged that campaign on their own children, they took over education at every level in this country and used the power of the rod to teach all of our children that there is nothing good, worthy or noble about the United States of America.
What passes for education in this country was rightly called a crime by the educators that got shoved out to make way for the progressives who took control of education at the local, state and federal level and used their control to strike the children with the bleakest and foulest interpretations of every historic thing that has ever happened and to blame every less than perfect outcome or event (in 21st century interpretation only) on white people, colonialism and slavery.
Glenn Seaborg and the National Commission on Excellence in Education issued their report back in 1983. Titled, "A Nation At Risk" it described for Americans what was visibly happening to the education system in this country.
Our Nation is at risk. Our once unchallenged preeminence in commerce, industry, science and technological innovation is being overtaken by competitors throughout the world.... the educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a Nation and as a people. What was unimaginable a generation ago has begun to occur- others are matching and surpassing our educational attainments.
If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war. As it stands, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves.... We have, in effect, been committing an act of unthinking, unilateral educational disarmament. It almost defies belief that education in this country has only gotten worse, much worse in the 34 years since the report was published. Education in this country is pushed to the lowest common denominator and the professional educator class and Courts have done everything in their power to push that denominator to the lowest achievable level.
I used to read the NYT every Sunday and their articles on the perilous state of teaching in America made for some interesting reading. It is the sole topic I have ever seen in the NYT where they threw lib/prog ideals under a bus, a school bus to be exact. Their articles uniformly hammered the departments of education and school boards for gutting the schools and destroying in-class learning by squandering the lion's share of time and resources on the tiny few who were those least able to benefit from them. How often do you see the New York Times take that approach?
I don't see any path for redemption of misled youth in this country. They bought the global warming scam hook, line and sinker because they are too ignorant to be able to tell science from voodoo and they accept unquestionably all the old liberal progressive shiboleths and never does it occur to them that someday we will run out of other people's money.
It's going to dawn on the older kids soon that there won't be a social security net for them. There won't be a guaranteed pension. The debt obligations we have now are as unpayable as Puerto Rico's. Everything they've been taught is a lie or a mistruth and they cannot go abroad anymore to try to learn from the less fortunate as their predecessors did in the Peace Corps since the countries that used to exist where modern youth could discover themselves are now violently dwelling in the 14th century and will happily crucify and behead them if they show up to preach the gospel they learned by rote at the knees of their professors.
President Trump nailed it when he spoke at the UN and told the world leaders and the rest of the world:
“The problem with Venezuela, is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented. From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venezuela, wherever true socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.”I can generally tell if someone is smart, clever or stupid and dumb just by their attitude to socialism. If they support liberal progressive socialism than their position has been established. They are the miserable failures personified of the dismal state of education in this country.
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA CALLS IT QUITS
Another organization has rolled left and died this week. As with the mighty Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, the Episcopal Church, BSA has decided to forswear the very simple foundation of their purpose and open boy scouting to girls. Their Executive Board voted unanimously to bring girls into the Boy Scouts and open a path to Eagle Scout for boys, girls, LGBTQwhatevers and tossed away the often stated purpose of the Boy Scouts, that of turning boys into young men.
Oddly enough, while I mourn the passing of even a corrupt and dying institution, I cannot bring myself to wholly believe that it will all end in tears. I suspect it will end with a whimper and a bang but it will be muted and little noted. I jumped ship on the BSA back when I was 14 and never looked back. Instead, I joined the Sea Explorers and took up sailing and enjoying the company of some really charming young ladies who were fellow Sea Explorers, some of whom also expressed an interest into turning some boys into young men. I thoroughly enjoyed it and sailed all over the southeast, middle Atlantic region, Great Lakes and beyond.
The passing of the Boy Scouts is probably the fall of the last bastion of a national male only organization that held to its charter in a sort of weak and feeble way that, obviously grew weaker and feebler after they decided a few years ago that morally straight encompasses gays and transwhatevers.
David Burge (IowaHawk) captured the liberal progressive strategy that has transformed and gutted one institution after another. I can't say it better:
I see the National Girl Scout Executive is not going to take the BSA's announcement lying down. They are, predictably, outraged that the BSA is poaching their latent members and throwing them into the company of boys. On the other hand, chaperones have been camping with the boy scouts for many years now. It's certain that the BSA of today have almost nothing in common with the BSA I joined in Fort Riley over 46 years ago.
Still, I've always liked girls in uniform.

WHERE VICE PRESIDENT PENCE STANDS MADE CLEAR
It's nice to have a man who stands up for America this near the throne in case something happens to President Trump. It's only a matter of time now given the hatred the left has for the man.
