TRUTH IN THE WORDS

The words are from a splash of truth found at Breitbart in an article detailing some of the lengths to which some people of the right went in order to foil the idiotic protest of the Trump haters. I used to think that Bush Derangement Syndrome would/could never be matched and yet these new haters proved me wrong.
“But he is protesting a man that has traded a lavish billionaire lifestyle to try and fix the train wreck that has been building over the last 16 years. Just to have his whole family ridiculed. Made fun of. Called liars. Racists.”

When you look at President Trump in that light it's not hard to see why he really enjoys taking the time to mock the pathetic losers and shoot rockets up their asses with his tweets. He has it on solid evidence that doing this can make the heads of those haters literally explode. God only knows how many have stroked out or died of hate-fueled heart attacks in reaction to President Trump gently letting them know what contemptible little rats they are.

I have enjoyed President Trump's tussling with the usual crew of incompetents and idiots who let Jimmy Carter dictate our strategic policy and sent him to North Korea "to negotiate" a final solution to the issue of Nork nuclear weapons. I admire Trump for probably ordering the SS to shoot Carter if he gets on any international flight and revoked his passport in order to keep that simple chump from jetting off to Pyongyang and patting the newest ruler of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea on the head for cheerfully accepting $5,000,000,000 in direct cash assistance from us for a promise to do a better job of concealing his weapons of mass destruction programs and not letting the idiots at the New York Times find out that Carter's fumbling ambitions have once again resulted in a strategic catastrophe on a par with the Fall of the Shah and the Rise of Islamic Fascist State of Iran.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA CALLS IT QUITS

Another organization has rolled left and died this week. As with the mighty Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, the Episcopal Church, BSA has decided to forswear the very simple foundation of their purpose and open boy scouting to girls. Their Executive Board voted unanimously to bring girls into the Boy Scouts and open a path to Eagle Scout for boys, girls, LGBTQwhatevers and tossed away the often stated purpose of the Boy Scouts, that of turning boys into young men.

Oddly enough, while I mourn the passing of even a corrupt and dying institution, I cannot bring myself to wholly believe that it will all end in tears. I suspect it will end with a whimper and a bang but it will be muted and little noted. I jumped ship on the BSA back when I was 14 and never looked back. Instead, I joined the Sea Explorers and took up sailing and enjoying the company of some really charming young ladies who were fellow Sea Explorers, some of whom also expressed an interest into turning some boys into young men. I thoroughly enjoyed it and sailed all over the southeast, middle Atlantic region, Great Lakes and beyond.

The passing of the Boy Scouts is probably the fall of the last bastion of a national male only organization that held to its charter in a sort of weak and feeble way that, obviously grew weaker and feebler after they decided a few years ago that morally straight encompasses gays and transwhatevers.

David Burge (IowaHawk) captured the liberal progressive strategy that has transformed and gutted one institution after another. I can't say it better:

I see the National Girl Scout Executive is not going to take the BSA's announcement lying down. They are, predictably, outraged that the BSA is poaching their latent members and throwing them into the company of boys. On the other hand, chaperones have been camping with the boy scouts for many years now. It's certain that the BSA of today have almost nothing in common with the BSA I joined in Fort Riley over 46 years ago.

Still, I've always liked girls in uniform.

WORD SISTER, PREACH IT

One may reliably place me in the 96% of Americans who don't trust the media in virtually all its forms. Not for nothing did I shake the American media off my shoes like a clingy piece of dog poop. This article from the Federalist gives voice to the main reason I don't pay much attention to anything that comes via the news whether it be NPR on the radio, any TV news and almost any print publication. Don't misunderstand me, I still read an amazing amount of news but I don't pay much attention to anything put out by the American media corps-de-menteurs.

As you can see below, Gizmodo is ranked 10th on her list of lying journalists. The first 9 were even more provoking in their lies and willful and deliberate misstatements of the facts. As with the 'alleged' evidence that the global warmists keep trotting out, they have to keep massaging the data and the facts to fit their models and stereotypes in order to keep the flickering embers of credibility, as they see it, alive. Read the whole article at the link.
10. Gizmodo
The tech news outlet, which was one of the first to break the story of the memo’s existence and print it in full, has since updated the post containing the text of the memo to remove all of the hyperlinks and charts.
“The text of the post is reproduced in full below, with some minor formatting modifications,” the post states. “Two charts and several hyperlinks are also omitted.”
A quick look at Gizmodo’s modified version of the memo versus the actual memo shows that the media outlet removed nearly all of Damore’s supporting evidence. Was this an effort to make the memo seem less credible?
The headline certainly doesn’t help Gizmodo’s case: “Exclusive: Here’s The Full 10-Page Anti-Diversity Screed Circulating Internally at Google.”
This is why only 4 percent of Americans have a “very positive” opinion of the news media: they subvert the full truth in order to serve a political agenda.
All of them do of course but only an idiot would believe what he reads or hears in the news.

GORE BLOWN AWAY AT BOX

I think it is kind of funny that the new Weathermen will downplay the utter failure of Gore's latest pack of lies to lure audiences into the theater to be lied to again. What is really funny is how they're going to have to spin it after the buildup they awarded it all by themselves.

Gee, do you suppose that failing to fill the theaters shows Donald Trump and the rest of the sane people don't believe in the scary BS future Al Gore and the criminal climate data pirates at the various universities here and in Britain have been pitching for over a decade? I'm sure that's not how they're going to pitch the failure of the masses to show up and urge a climate revolution before, for the 322nd time in this century, it is TOO LATE TO CHANGE!!!!!

OH NO! The world is doomed.

NOW THAT'S A HOOT

I hope it holds true because the only group we despise more than politicians, is journalists.

15 minutes after the image above here are the updated results. Pity the fascists of America who have no 'late reporting' precincts like Philadelphia, Chicago or Detroit.

Neener!

Do you think other real republican candidates will decide that the surest route to victory is to find one of the endless progressive journolist idiots and body-slam him on camera?

TWO AMERICAS

I can't believe that someone at the New York Times saw fit to publish these. They're amazing.

CULTURAL APPROPRIATION

We here at Defiant are happy appropriators of all that is best and good. We like fine wine, attractive houses, nice people, melodious voices and cats. We also like things that people built here back when beauty was still in fashion in architecture and the world held competitive exhibitions and World Fairs. We only went to the one fair in New York and we were terribly small at the time and have only the dimmest memories that probably aren't real, but we lived in New York back then, so of course we went.

I see that Egypt erupted at some point over Chinese dare devils who created themselves a near exact life size copy of the Sphinx. We can't have that said Egypt and went to some world body or other that controls things like human rights, the price of anchovies and the great cultural appropriation scam. They objected, most vociferously, to the Chink Sphinx. In your drawing books you can color me stunned when I read that China dutifully knocked to pieces the great fake sphinx.

Closer to home we have the things we took from our heritage. Being American, we have the entire world to select from and refine as 'our' heritage. I kind of like it all. I don't believe any American outside the Department of State would even hear the faint little bleating of outraged old world types if they did object to the little things we made and treasure. Some of them were made, at first, out of paper and tinsel, but the civil liked them enough after the World Fair, Pacific-Panama Exhibit or other giant festival to make them real.

Josephine and A Temple to Athena in Nashville that looks like the Parthenon
Dusty old ruin in Greece
Art is an ideal. It turns up wherever people have ideals and a copy is still the highest compliment.

Palace of Fine Arts (there's not a speck of art in the palace)
I happen to like the Palace of Fine Arts so I threw it in. I don't see how a Sphinx in China hurt Egypt or Copts in the valley of the Nile, much less the Egyptians dwelling on the shores of the Red Sea or the Sinai.

I suppose if 90% of your national income derives from tourism, not counting the billions of $ in aid the United States sends there every year which is matched by petro-emirs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, I guess you can be expected to throw a hissy fit when somebody fakes your sphinx. I wonder how their suit against the Luxor worked?

SNOPES LONG FALL FROM GRACE

Palace sources revealed that SNOPES is nothing but a democrat fact checker in the same bag with the New York Times, Washington Post and other major dead media. I still go there from time to time to see how they spin "truth" but not that often. A constant diet of deceit and lies is bad for my figure. I did get a kick out of this one though:

I don't believe that islamic terrorism is behind the incident either but I laugh at anyone who could contact the wrong office, get what they wanted to hear from the wrong guy there, and then communicate that information as some sort of fact that establishes the non-credibility of the source that "described it as from a dubious source [which] cannot be considered genuine at this time.

We can only hope that wolfram alpha stays honest and doesn't fall into the darkness.

THE EMBARRASSMENT CLASS

I don't know if professional Navy officers feel embarrassment anymore. We used to feel it keenly when we deserved to. It was akin to humiliation and one worked very hard to avoid embarrassing oneself or one's seniors. Sadly, it appears that nobody feels any shame in failure or outright humiliation anymore. If there was even a hint of the old Navy remaining alive in the new Navy one would see countless officers hanging their heads in shame at foisting the LCS and JSF on the Navy and Marines.

The crew of a broken ship can feel embarrassment for being unable to maintain or repair a ship entrusted to them. Supposedly, the Navy went out of its way to train and prepare the crew to operate, maintain and repair the ships it gives them. There is damage or repairs that are beyond ship's company's ability to repair but those were once usually inflicted by the enemy or typhoons and not the vagaries of simply getting underway on a beautiful day 20 days after leaving behind the builder's yard, sea trials and final acceptance of the new warship by NAVSEA and SUPSHIP.

I once worked for a CO who found that his Ops Department had made an elementary mistake one night. We spent the entire morning the next day hunting for enemy mines in our own private section of the Persian Gulf about 5 miles away from the other 2 ships engaged in the hunt. The CO finally pulled and reviewed the message that included the navigation data for the day's task and had it replotted himself. He found that we were indeed way "outside the box." His anger was palpable.

When we anchored that night he had all officers report to his cabin where he started out a remarkable ass-chewing by simply stating that 'we' had made him look like a complete idiot in front of his peers. This man was by no means a reamer and screamer. He was a thoughtful and thoroughly decent officer but the events of the day had piled up to the point where he wasn't going to take it anymore.

I'm not sorry I was excused the tirade. I had other things to do but I knew I didn't want to let anybody down the way the Operations Department had let him down. We busted our ass to make the ship go and to that end we were also ready to pass almost any readiness inspection at any time. We did it for our pride. After all, a crappy ship has a poisonous reputation all along the waterfront and the crew used to feel that rep in many ways. I'm not sure if that's the case anymore when ships don't belong to a crew.

Way back, a long time ago, we had a class of ships that the LCS replaced. I was never a fan of those ships after many early encounters with them. They had one massive design flaw that was applied to every aspect of the ship - it was cheap and shoddy and had zero redundancy. Still, they could get away with many minor tasks if one didn't peer to closely underneath the layer of paint.

There is one simple rule to naval gunfire. It boils down to, 'don't shoot your own ship.' In the space of about 2 years, half a dozen of the FFGs managed to shoot themselves. I suspect the Type Commanders and the Fleet Commanders got pretty tired of NAVSEA's bleating about how the, "ships just couldn't help themselves since they were designed to shoot into themselves from the very beginning."
Defanged Frigate With Gun Aimed at Stack and other Gun
In other words, it wasn't a design flaw, it was a signal point of pride that NAVSEA had designed a ship where the Safe Stow position for a naval gun, pointed it directly at the ship's exhaust stack and 20mm close in weapon system. In short, nobody at NAVSEA felt any embarrassment about the problem and did nothing to fix it until it happened again and again and again.

The waterfront was less forgiving. I remember strolling to the Main Brace at 32nd Street one day after knock off and seeing an FFG return to port to moor alongside a sister ship. It came into Pier 4 and the ship it was mooring alongside had prepared a little welcome that outraged the CO and Squadron Commander of the damaged ship. The undamaged ship's crew had put an enormous bullseye on their own stack. The skipper and the Commodore, they were embarrassed. One might say that the skipper felt humiliated. Here they were, returning home with tail between their legs and their mighty close in weapon system lying smashed on the flight deck where it landed after being blown off its mount by their own gun as smoke poured out of the new holes in the ship's smoke stack.

So we find ourselves with our newest addition to fleet welded to some pier in the Tide Water area with people scratching their heads trying to work out how the metal filings found their way into the lube oil strainers. There's a few ways I know.
-There is metal to metal contact somewhere in the gear train that is grinding up the reduction gear
-There is metal to metal contact in the propulsion engines
-The ship is so stupidly designed that all lube oil feeds into one massive filter and nobody knows
      where it is coming from
     -Sabotage

Walking USS MILWAUKEE  Home
Our embarrassing problem in the midst of OPERATION EARNEST WILL came down to a plotting error that was inexcusable but harmless. It caused no damage and no gaps were left after we hustled over to where we were supposed to be and completed the assignment. For me, the saddest part was that somehow the same exact plotting error was made on the paper chart and on the electronic system we used as the conning officer's primary plotter. In other words, the same wrong information was entered into two different navigation systems by two different people. The redundancy inherent in the system failed. That happens sometimes. It's embarrassing. It should be.

MINDLESS SECURITY

After reading about the terror attacks yesterday I was amazed to wake this morning and read in USA Today that the administrator of the Transportation Security Theater Troop was assuring America that not only were his goons on top of the threat posed by terrorists, they were rounding up christian extremists  knew all about the airline terrorists workers laboring away in the bowels of our airport secure areas theft and diversion with terrorist ties and that nobody in all of the TSA gives a damn.
The Transportation Security Administration, which repeatedly screens 2 million airport workers, didn't identify 73 workers potentially associated with terrorism, according to a watchdog report Monday.
"TSA acknowledged that these individuals were cleared for access to secure airport areas despite representing a potential transportation security threat," the 34-page report said.
In its formal reply to the report, TSA said it plans to check workers against the broader database by the end of the year. TSA also disputed missing potential threats in its vetting because the government doesn't provide the agency with all of its watch-list information.
Sooooo, if I understand HLS and TSA, anybody can go on the NO FLY LIST forever for no explicable reason at all, yet the TSA doesn't screen out workers with known ties to terrorists and terrorist connections and keep them out of "secure areas" in our airports.

I don't have a warm fuzzy about that. It reeks of stupidity and incompetence.

YALE CODE OMEGA

We thought this might be apropos given all the shameful happenings at Yale this week. Nobody could have seen it coming.

Well, I guess they didn't cover up as well as they thought. It looks like plenty of people recognized the subtle 'je ne sais quoi' of a Yale man.

WHITHER THE GREAT SCOTTISH HAGGIS HUNT

Will there be a Great Scottish Haggis Hunt this year? The world wonders. We missed it last year because they were looking for a new host that can handle 8 million page hits.

UNBELIEVABLE COVERAGE

Bloomberg takes the prize this week for truly awful sports coverage. The only photo in the piece is of the loser and the only quote from the winner is an 'apology for upsetting a potential historic event.' I know, it wasn't sports coverage despite the misleading title. Par for this course.

Speaking of par, I glimpsed at the Washington-Redskin's-birdcage-lining-Post that a new Federal Study finds that adults over the age of 50 should lower their blood pressure and the latest study forms the basis for the Post's call for those geezers to get their systolic blood pressure under 120 in spite of the fact that long available studies have shown both that normal blood pressure is under 120 and that once you have high blood pressure there isn't a damn thing you personally can do about it except get your doctor to put you on blood pressure medication. There is little need for Dr. Weintraub to lecture the public with his asinine quote reproduced in the redskin Post:

"grazing". Really? Srsly?
There is more but the Post restricts viewers like me to 2 lines at a time. There are also helpful directives mixed in that claim we eat to much salt etc. When, I wonder, did Federal researchers get anything at all right after the invention of the hydrogen bomb? All of the dietary and health revelations are overturned as so much make-believe and show as much resemblance to actual science as Michelle Obama's school lunch directive or the chicken little global warming scam preached by famous federal researchers like Al Gore and Michael Mann.

Don't you find it curious that 'researchers' are always finding ways of extending human lifespan and blame any failure to live forever on some weakness or character flaw that leads people to have strokes, heart attacks or even cancer? I've noticed that some people with good genetics live a long time and stay active and mentally sharp decades after other good people have succumbed to the ailments of age. I think lifespan is almost purely a matter of genetics and luck and that people prattling about healthy lifestyles are making it up as they market snake oil science.

COMPROMISE

I remember a book I read long ago. It was filled with advice and guidance for getting on in life. It never discussed pragmatism and compromising one's moral beliefs simply to avoid a legal tussle. Perhaps the next imprint will describe the circumstances where it is OK to simply turn into an invertebrate and compromise your most basic principles. Good job, men.

HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL

I will never again go into Baltimore without a gun. It's worth killing. I'm going to carry a couple hundred rounds and might use two guns.
"And so am I, very dangerous: more dangerous than anything you will ever meet, unless you are brought alive before the seat of the Dark Lord.
OK, I'm not going again to Baltimore without a flamethrower, grenades, and a rocket launcher.

Hi Baltimore? How do you feel now?

It's mostly why I skip LA. I don't need anything on Rodeo drive. Neither does anybody else except a poor southern boy who needs a visa from the French consulate there.

As a student of civilization it was interesting, watching all the video and observing the negligible differences between civil and the other.

"Going to an Orioles game?" Here's a broad sword. You might need it to fight your way out of Camden Yard to your car. Thank you for coming to Baltimore, you loser!"

The Mayor of Baltimore announced that people needed a place to go all uncivilized and act like apes.

I'm not convinced.

I lived there. That was my backyard. All those mean bitches getting the backhand? Ha!

with this one I will simply say, elliptical and leave it at that. You had to be there.

EARTH, NEAT

The animation after the first article is pretty cool. It's an animation of Earth after all the ice melts in the inevitable global warming apocalypse.
