What about acid rain? Remember lakes going sterile, six legged frogs, and vast swathes of the Black Forest in Germany dead and withered? I guess none of that happened.
I also recall hearing, probably back in the early 70's, how styrofoam had to be banned because it would take a hundred years for one to degrade once thrown down on the ground.
Excuse me if I ignore whatever the environmental disaster of the day is this time.
Don't forget the coming Ice Age of the 70's or the staggering discovery of the Sargasso Seas and death of the oceans. The sad thing is that these are all things created by agile political brains and they've roped whole generations of young into believing that The End Is Near and it is impossible to reason with them. Somehow, they ignore that change is simply the passing of time and they can no more stop it than they can stop time.
