I feel quite a bit of sympathy for the people involved with Cold Case. They had a good show, a good series, a good run and nobody will reap the benefit of residuals because of the music they used when they made the original shows. The person in charge of the rights was the artist of cheap and didn't nail down things properly. Which, as I said, is too bad.

The music made the show and there's no question that the musicians need to make their fair share. I saw this with House a few  years in as it was the music, oft times, that made the episode.

Both the video and the music disappears faster than one likes.

The importance of getting the contract right.
