My former Damage Control Assistant was MPA on New Jersey and he gave me the complete cook's tour everything from the bridge to the shaft alleys. It was 4 hours well spent. The turrets were amazing but so was everything else on that old ship. I think it was one of former Main Propulsion Assistants that gave me the same tour on USS Long Beach where I finally found a ship where somebody thought CIC should be under the waterline or close to it.
Main Battery of the Big Badger Boat!
They were pretty ships. I remember standing on the 12th hole at Sand and Sea at NASNI where we all just stoped for awhile to wacth New Jersey enter port. They were lovely ships.OTOH, could not envision them without envisioning HMS Prince of Wales and Repulse.
