THINK ABOUT IT

From the blogsite of Watts, a guest post about a drive through Yellowstone Park.
Finally, just before leaving the Park, a pika ran across the road. This is an endearing little creature, much smaller than a rabbit, with no tail and huge ears. It is supposed to be threatened by climate change. I got to thinking about that … the temperature in the park ranges from over 100°F (37°C) in the summer to minus 40°F (-40°C) in the winter. The pika survives that without a problem … and he’s supposed to be endangered by a change in average temperature of a couple of degrees? Seems quite doubtful …
There. Fixed it. A non-endangered by global scamming Pika.

The photographs at the link are amusing.

...I used $450 to buy a brand-new Honda 90 cc motorcycle. I strapped my guitar on the back of the Honda, and drove it from San Francisco to Yellowstone Park...

He rode a 90cc tiddler from SFO to Yellowstone? That right there is amazing, in and of itself. I know for a fact those things could only do about 50 mph MAX, and that was wound out tight as a drum.

I rode my 225cc Yamaha through Yellowstone back in '99 when I ran away from home... but I towed it on a trailer behind El Casa Móvil De Pennington. I did Yellowstone in May and although it was beautiful (indeed!) it was also COLD.

Nice link.

I'll grant you know your bikes. I enjoyed the image of the young troubadour singing for his supper enroute. That's right out of the middle ages, or middle earth for that matter. Me? I think a leisurely cruise on a slow bike along the old roads and byways from San Francisco to Yellowstone would still be a pleasure. In July.

Until people go to the desert, they have no idea how bloody cold it gets at night.
