A WAKE UP CALL

In 1988 I woke up the ship by playing this enroute to a minefield at 0600. Because I could.

The captain was so enamored he asked for my tape and then took two steps to toss it overboard.

Cheater.

They never prosper.

Your old captain was obviously a Sassenach.

When I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge initially I was housed in WW II Quonset huts located on the Bentwaters side just off to the left of the south end of the runway. A buddy of mine (whose hut was actually closest) and I crept out one night right next to the runway and recorded two F-4Cs running up their engines to 100% upon prep for T.O., then recording T.O. itself to inclu both ac hitting their after-burners. The sound obtained was close to 100% of the real thing. Years later, when a civilian in New Orleans, an obnoxious neighbor kept his party "sounds" disturbing the entire neighborhood late into the night. My solution was to open the window opposite his house, position my big-base "party-speakers in the window, put on the F-4 tape on my TEAC 6010S reel-to-reel and and dial it up max grunt.....lights went on for blocks away 360, all around. LOL! And no more sounds..

I had a friend in college who waged acoustic war with his downstairs neighbors at Lion Village. It was around 1981, 1AM as I recall and he had it out with his neighbors after asking them politely twice. He had prepped for the war by buying the most powerful speakers he could find and he lay them face down on the floor and blew out their windows and eardrums. He already had the amp but his old speakers weren't up to the job. :)
His new speakers went up to 12.
