As a commanding officer I had to deal with a few captain's mast cases where it was 'she said/he said' and there wasn't a lick of evidence to back up the claims made formally to the chain of command. These pretty much define TANJ. I can think of no justification for sitting on an alleged assault charges for months, years, decades even, without making any stir at all and given that, I see no reason whatsoever to believe them when I read about them.

What with all the business Congress has on its plate, I feel the accommodations made to witnesses and whatnot during committee hearings is just stupid. People need to be making appearing before a Congressional Committee a much bigger priority than one's own personal business.
I am deeply offended by this Congresses performance re. Senate hearings for judges. this should have been finished and done months ago. Zero leadership by senior senate and house republicans.
I really don't know when republicans turned into the party of squish but that's all they are. My father couldn't see why Virginians voted out that loser Cantor despite his position as head of the party republicans in the House. We're sick to death of squish pols who go to DC and turn into lapdogs for the elitists that own that city and all the politicians who forget who they represent. Boehner saw the writing on the wall.
