WORTH REPEATING

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

I'm rather amazed by the number of billionaires that find Hillary a more worthy candidate than Turnip. I suspect that all of us will regret it when she is elected by the dead and fled voters.

I may be in Scotland when that happens. It's sorry I'll be to miss the start of the Revolution.

i reckon we're screwed. For me, the thing is, my daughter, my only child, is only 13.She is not of fighting age and won't be for years. Right now, she lives in a place that makes Berkeley look sane. It's to hell and gone down Puget Sound. She'll be OK.

I've been to the post office just now and completely forgotten what I was writing. As you know, that's a familiar problem of mine.

It just took me twenty minutes to find my book where I left it. I'm rerearding Citizen of the Galaxy. It and the Moon is a Harsh Mistress are on my list of rereads.
