I saw a quick blurb on Sunday that hinted that the President of Oberlin had shown some of the fortitude we used to expect from men in his position but it seems like our hopes were dashed since he really means to give in to the bigots after drawing out the groveling to the maximum extent possible consistent with failing to deliver any kind of education. Quelle surprise. The most profoundly racist bigots in North America have penned a manifesto with certain
demands.
We as a College-defined "high risk," "low income," "disadvantaged" community should not have to carry the burden of deconstructing the white supremacist, patriarchal, capitalist system that we took no part in creating, yet is so deeply embedded in the soil upon which this institution was built.
If you bother to read their selfish and greedy screed, you can't help but be struck by how Oberlin has managed to both attract and miseducate an entire class of people that you wouldn't want to work with, work for, or hire. They are the dimmest of the dim and call to mind a previous era of unrealized graft, corruption and soul-destroying idiocy where people sincerely thought they could 'organize' the fruit pickers and demand higher wages and better living quarters and yet remained insensible to the simple fact that as long as the border was open it would continue to draw endless hordes of people who would work for peanuts and live in hovels because it was still better than where they came from.

There are no words I could use to quantify, describe, or detail the idiocy encompassed in that document.
Morons, we've got morons on our team.
(To paraphrase Strother Martin in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.)
I used to think they were divorced from reality but as I watch things now, I can't help but notice that I'm the one most divorced from reality.
Same here Cap'n. You're not alone.
Ditto here. As the old saying goes, "I must be the crazy one or else the whole world...."
