When the landline rings, I pick it up and don't say anything for a couple of seconds, if I don't get a human "hello" within that time frame, I hang up.
My better half went to the doctor this morning and is trying to rest and shake a headache. I was picking up on first ring but 4 in 30 minutes is just ridiculous. One was an insurance scam, the other was Purple Heart vets, one was loud background music no operator and the last just hung up when I answered. I don't usually pick up since 4 rings and they're off to the answering machine.

Try the CPR call blocker V 202 on Amazon at about $80. We've had blessed silence for the last week or so, thanks to ours.
