I remember a 1950's visit with a friend of my father who had been bedridden since 1917. He was in the Canadian army in WW1 and was hit with mustard/lewisite. He was blinded by it and was down to 1/4 of a lung when I visited. I did not understand at the time, as I was but an ignorant child and I have never forgotten him.
now days, I firmly believe only old men should fight in wars. the young have so much to lose. We would make it end very, very quickly.
