sense. At no time did I or any other uniformed person think that the war in Afghanistan was winnable. Only idiots thought it was a war and that there was some way to power through and win. None of us were idiots.

No one, at any time in recorded history, has gotten any joy in invading the area now known as Afghanistan. Anyone with any intelligence would avoid that area and let those people kill each other, as they have long enjoyed doing.
