Yesterday was my birthday. She's gone 16 years not saying happy birthday. I must be doing it wrong. Over the years I've found that I can live with that.
Happy Birthday Sir. You do know that she may be doing it wrong... My brother hasn't spoken to me in nearly two years. I took the blame for that, until I realized that I wasn't the one that caused this riff... and that I was not responsible for him.
I used to play the cards I was dealt. It's the nature of the world. I accept it.
I packed and sent Christmas presents to her just a little while ago. There was, by the by, no call at Christmas either.
On the other hand, she is going to be her mother's daughter. Her mother doesn't just know evil. She taught it. I find it amusing these days that there is real truth to the old truism for men contemplating marriage, Go and meet her mother, that's just what she'll be in 15 years.
Ouch. On the other hand, that was very close to the advice my wife's parents gave her regarding a potential husband -- watch the interaction between him and his mother because that's an important clue to how he'll treat you. And I got lucky -- my wife takes after her father, not her mother. Thank God.
