Welcome citizen of the galaxy. I was thinking of rereading them. It's been about 40 years since the last time I read them and I thought I'd actually start with the Skylark before getting to Triplanetary and the rest of the Lens.
I think Isaac Asimov was a peer of Doc and I can only imagine the world as it was when they were writing. No part of it exists anymore. Can you imagine a real projection for this world in a few hundred years? I used to write very hard after long study what the imaginary world 10 years in the future would look like. Yeah, I helped write 1015, 1018, 1019 and the 5000 series war plans. None of the units, ships or equipment even exist anymore. To be honest, quite a few didn't exist back then either if one was invited to an all of a sudden, nobody saw it coming war. As people who actually did plan for those wars.....we really disliked them.

Clear ether my friend. :)
I believe the Aristians would have the answer but they all left this plane of existence.
It's hard to believe that there are still readers out there who remember the 'enemies of civilization.'

Smith wrote more than the Lensman and Skylark series.
I suggest Spacehounds of IPC.
You can find them on Kindle now. What would 'Doc' Smith have made of that?
