A BAD DAY IN THE USAF

I was looking at the crash of a light plane in an Alaskan river and it took me to a fascinating place online filled with interesting information about flights that end badly. Yesterday appears to have been a bad day but it could have been far worse.

landing gear collapsed on landing with no fatalities

I was stationed at McGuire AFB on August 28, 1976 when two C-141 Starlifters crashed on the same day. It was a really bad day for the 438th MAW...

I was on watch when two P3 Orions collided about 50 miles south of our location. There were no survivors. We always had Military Air Distress and International Air Distress up when we were operating back then. It was a very sad day at VP-50 up at Moffet Field.
