We stayed overnight there in 2012. The crowds leave in the late afternoon and you pretty much have it to yourself. We trekked up to the abbey in the early morning and it was beautiful.
We were staying on the coast in Paimpol and took the milk train over to see it one morning. It is an amazing place but you have to go to the very top and walk in the cloisters, oh, and see the man cage which is an enormous gerbil wheel they used to bring up supplies to the Abbey back in the days before the Revolution.

I tossed my little sister through the little tiny window up top, downwind of the walking reel.
She turned that into 5 books. She never gives me any credit for discovery.....:)
Where is that magical place?
