Metroparkcentralis is being unusual to a relative newcomer. It keeps producing bats that find me in my Fortress of Solitude. It's getting old.
The first one bit me. There have been uncharming sorts of people who asked why. What can I say? It landed on my bare leg left knee and settled in for a snuggle before I picked it up with the right hand to toss it back out the window. That's when the damned thing bit me.
A few weeks later I found another bat bathing in my bath. Yes, in winter I keep the water as a heat sink and I don't really care if it matters-all the windows were closed and yet there was this bat winging frantically to breathe. I tossed him out of the house.
And just two nights ago, I went to the Central Repository to look up a reference from 2 score years ago and what do I find? Another damned bat snuggling into my diaries. I had to go down 3 flights and out to the garage to find utility gloves that I was pretty sure would stimy even shiny dripping with rabies pointed teeth before I grasped it and tossed it out the window.
You know other communities are bemoaning their loss of bats and the death of their bat flocks. Me? Not so much. Those little bastards are everywhere. They're like flying deer dammit!

Well, then, all you need is a flying car and you'll be thinning their numbers big time.
I suspect, like you, we both see deer on the lawns or crossing the roads every single time we get behind the wheel to drive anywhere here in metroparkcentralis. They are everywhere and now they're eating my little tree. B@stards
You have seen a doctor about the bat bite, right? Rabies is no fun.
Rabies is worse than that. Once you start showing the mildest of symptoms, it's damned near a death sentence.
Oh yeah, within the hour I got the first shots and then went back as directed for the three follow-ons. I was blown away a couple weeks ago to learn that in the States that rabies shot cost's up to $10,000. Other countries it's $800-$1600.
Which is why one just doesn't take any chances.
