THE IMPORTANT THING

One of the things you learn young is water skiing. If you're not up to speed with it, you learn the importance of being above the water when moving through it 55 miles per hour. You might also learn that sometimes it really is time to let go of the rope.

As usual, ask me how I know.

When I had the chance to try water skiing in my early twenties I thought it was great fun. When I had the chance to ski again at a much later time in my life I thought it was insanely dangerous.
I can see your point about letting go of the rope would apply to far more than just water skiing.

I the early days the saying was, "If you aren't falling, you aren't learning anything new."
Later it was, "If you don't have any bruises..."
Now, the grip is still good but the arms can't handle the drag.
Oh, well!
