It's time to bid NATO farewell and it has been for about 30 years now. The world has changed a lot since 1947. Honestly, the only two reasons it remained together for so long have faded away. The Soviet Union is now long gone and the United States went worse then broke trying to sustain the illusion of power long after the need had faded away. GDP etc from investopedia.
Current US stated debt is, 2 years later standing at: $34 trillion. It has increased by 11 trillion in just 2 years and we haven't even fought Russia and China yet! This does not include those off-budget items that nobody ever talks about. Just servicing the debt every year from this day forward equals the amount of money spent on the Defense Department. Our response to this little problem of simply opening the country to millions of illegal, impoverished, uneducated, ignorant migrants is literally insane.
