THE OTHER BAD NEWS

Sure and certain of my commission and future employment, I read this entire series in college along with every other thing Sir Charles Oman wrote.

To be honest his offering here was not the best of his writing but then, the authors divvied up history between them and you know how that can be. He wrote spectacularly good history. Up there with Thucydides.

Short of losing the Sovereign, it's odd how much political history doesn't change all that much from generation to generation. I'm sure some famous Greek or Roman wrote about it. It would be my luck if it was Juvenal.
