BACCALAUREATE IN LUNCH DEGREE

I was reading Sarah Hoyt. She wrote about TANSTAAFL.

Robert Heinlein made it immortal in THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS.  We are now a nation of people who don't/can't read anymore. I dare to say that most people have no idea what it stands for.

There Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

Coincidentally, the quote on Wordsmith today, "The problem in our country isn't with books being banned, but with people no longer reading. ... You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them. -Ray Bradbury

Sadly there are an increasing number of people who write 'challenging' books that 'frustrate' the reader and these are the ones that win prizes. It's no wonder that people don't read.
My dad is a voracious reader but he doesn't read books. As far as I can tell, he never did.
