The USN and its supporters are thrilled to be fighting the enemy (???) so brilliantly in the Red Sea. We are shooting hundreds of missiles and drones down using missiles of our own and this, Huzza!!! is the new form of naval warfare. Nobody gets hurt!!!!! What a war!!!
Seriously, and we should be serious, what are we doing? Most of the world's shipping is diverting around Africa and bypassing the Red Sea and Suez Canal and its not like there are more than a dozen US flagged merchant ships in the entire world so we're not protecting our shipping or our trade and we aren't protecting the vast bulk of international trade.
An analogy from history seems appropriate. It's as if having decided that we don't like what the German U-boats are doing to neutral shipping we come up with a method of shooting at the torpedoes and simply ignore and I mean totally ignore the actual U-boats and the country that is directing them to attack our shipping.
There's nothing to be proud of about shooting at anti-ship missiles, 99% of which are going to harmlessly plunge into the sea and there is nothing so idiotic looking as boasting about shooting at those things unless you also destroy the people shooting them and make them regret it so much that they stop doing it. We no longer even mention those people at all or the ones behind them and no kids, it's not the Russians.

That is one of those "don't look behind the curtain", the emperor is naked things. Having tried to 'shock and awe' them the only other choice is to go boot on the ground over there. Big risk, gambling every ounce of prestige fighting lilliputian's that beat USA and Saudi Arabia and UAE just a few years ago.
I believe that is called a tar baby. Once you pick it up you regret it and can't shake it off.
Total blockade until they stop or starve to death. Show the world socialism with its socialist face.
Or perhaps America could leave Israel to fight its own war.
Nations not involved with the Gaza situation are not being attacked.
I know I'm dreaming since we'll over 50% of our leadership is dual citizenship in Israel.
I think that would work too. It's not like the bad old days when the PLO was outright attacking Americans and every other country in the world trying to make their war everyone's special dying place.
Not to mention the fact that the cost factor is in favor of the sand ni**ers by about 10 to 1.
We shoot a half million dollar missile at a drone or homemade missile that cost maybe 50Kto produce. Good way to go bankrupt...if we weren't already hopelessly in debt. The only possible good thing to come out of this might be the opportunity for the US Military to perfect and deploy an effective directed energy weapon and test it in real world use.

Maybe how about we fix a few hundred bridges and restore the forward repair and resupply of our navy instead?
