Past fiction frequently becomes future reality. Slaughter Bots are not an if...but a when. Sooner or later someone WILL make this reality.
Most definitely and they'll go after the politicians first. Kind of shades of "The Moon Goddess and the Son" and of course the first anti-politician drone attack I heard of almost 15 years ago or more was supposedly launched at Hugo Chavez.
Bad design. Sure, do that to the generals and the exceptionally bright officers, but for foot soldiers, they should be targeting both elbows.
