RIGHT ABOUT NOW

A few naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz would certainly add spice to the placid and peaceful earth we have all come to inhabit under the relentless and persistent leadership of Biden and Austin and not to mention the sure and steady hand of Harris.

Admittedly, I always thought they'd see if they could do it and trap a couple of Battle Groups up in the Persian Gulf but nothing says, "Welcome to the BRICS" quite like a little peaceful mine countermeasures under a deep cerulean sky.

On the gripping hand I suspect our Mine Countermeasures ships have enjoyed the same love, affection and careful attention to maintenance and repairs that our Amphibious ships and submarines have enjoyed at the tender hands of a merciful, talented and resourceful Supervisor of Ship Repair and Construction.

Do you at all get the sense that the people at the top ever figured out that War is a Come As You Are feature and not something you get to schedule a few years out when you're good and ready for it?

Given how cheap sea mines are I suspect that the Houthis decided Against them because they are indiscriminate.

Seems the Houthis have been targeting Israeli Shipping and letting the rest through.

There is something worthwhile looking like a reasonable warrior to the rest of the world, USA and Vassel states not included. The US Ally Ukraine using sea mines that drifted about forcing Russian Minesweepers to clear them for the agreed upon grain shipping and using US supplied Cluster Munitions to give civilians years of entertainment with some 30% dud rate.

Once Germany felt invincible, later came Nurenburg trials.

Got a little news for you. The people in power, the people running the Pentagon, WANT America to lose the next war. They are communists. Owned body and soul by the CCP who has had control over the American Communist Party nee Democrats since Slick Willie and his accomplice Killery infested the White House and sold out to Beijing.

The Houthi's will let any one pass. As long as you are not going to or from Israel, owned in part of whole by an Israeli, or owned in part of whole by an American or UK person. The USA & UK are recent developments resulting from our strikes on them.

Russian shops, Chinese ships passing at will. Ship owners setting their id channel to announce that they have no commerce with Israel are passing. The only ships that are not allowed to pass are from persons or countries that support the Genocide in Gaza.
