I've heard the books are great. I would, however, be interested in learning what a "solider" is. "Solider" than what? I know, not your spelling, but the original poster's.
Have all of the books and DVDs. It's been a while since I've seen the shows but I watch the clips on You Tube. Another good series by Bernard Cornwell is The Last Kingdom, I think 9 books and three DVDs. I think that each DVD covers about two books.
You know, I didn't even see that! I read most of the books. I started them when he was well into the series and so read about 10 by the time I was slowed by the pace of writing. Even then they rolled out regularly. This is one of the few times I think the 'show' is as good as or better than the books. Outstanding casting and acting.
I just noticed this in my favorites section. It is the Sharpe Appreciation Society. It is inactive but there are photos and a synopsis of each film. web site: southessex.co.uk

I've seen a few clips but never a whole episode and it looks like they got just the guy for both Sharpe and the sergeant.

So far youtube is where I've seen some of the show. It's pretty good.
