KEPLER RETIRES

Our planet hunting space-based telescope has shot its last frame shortly before it ran out of fuel after 9 and a half years and finding over 2,600 planets beyond our solar system. It was a remarkable achievement for a satellite designed to last just 3.5 years. I love when our space contractors design and fabricate incredible machines like Kepler and our Martian rovers, not to mention the Voyagers. I sure wish the Air Force would hire them and then get the hell out of the way when they design and build the satellites we use in space to study the earth.
