Remember the heady days of yore in 1984 when the earth was going to die in fire? Yeah, those were the days.
Heard on the radio coming home this morning from an epic drive in the country.

Brings me back to NAS Alameda in 83 and 84, all the protesters at the East Gate camped out by base housing hating on the Navy and nukes (in particular). I was on the load team in those days and was amused by the hippies and lefties and their zeal for making noise and disrupting the routine. Been retired for 25 years, and and these days find I have more in common with those folks concerning the military industrial complex and the lack of restraint of our gubmint/forces in tossing around a few bombs carelessly overseas. Still against the hippies, they all moved on to govern California and the rest of the country.

I first heard them in Newport RI at navy school in 83 and then I heard the Pirate song in a cab in Aqaba. I liked her voice and the sax.
Yes, I thought it was a cool tune, too.
Little did we know that in less than 10 years from that video's release the Warsaw Pact would dissolve and the USSR would be no more.
