I am sensing a very different pattern to the array of news from this war. Nobody is sitting pretty this time with their own Wolf Blitzer reporting from Tehran and what news does filter out of organs of disinformation, shading and flat out fabrication don't seem to have anything but rumors and innuendo to report.
On the other hand, this is the war that Russia and Putin wish that they had waged against Ukraine. Do the decapitation and do it long and hard and then drop a couple of airborne divisions on the capital and send Wagner up the middle. Ukraine does not have the regional warlord infrastructure that littered Afghanistan and Iran. With an absolute command of the ether Russia could have tracked down and destroyed every replacement Zelensky and every new and acting head of the military components and field commanders. For all their fearsome reputation as significant actors in deep penetration and cyber warfare, they don't seem to be in the same league as US and Israel. I'm surprised by that.
I have to admit, I'm also surprised by the relative absence of Iran's favorite warriors in this conflict. Sure their terrorist commandos have been gutted and destroyed in Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen but I was sure they had lots of true believers here in America ready to act. Post war analysis will be fascinating. As it is I've been impressed by just about everything and really impressed by the Combat Search and Rescue guys.

Trump put the Europeans between a rock and a hard place and now it's put up or shut up and they know it. They all talked smack about the US and their NATO contributions until this happened. So the less they say about Trump's war, the better. Clearly their local news outlets got the memo to that effect.
The Eurocrats have been talking about a European Army for decades, meanwhile overall military capabilities of all EU nations and the UK is so dismal that despite the rhetoric, they know there's nothing they could do. Trump, love him or hate him, pulled their pants down and exposed what absolute liars and cowards they all are.
Now the German military is cranking up the rhetoric about a possible Russian threat and talking about bringing back the draft which they ended back in 2011.
This is the same Russia which;
- after 4-years of fighting, still hasn't toppled the Kyiv government
- has NEVER invaded Europe
- up until a few years ago, provided Germany and other EU countries with cheap gas which their economies heavily relied on.

Wonder if a lot of those "sleeper cell" guys sent over here found out just how pleasant life in the First World can be and have no interest in giving up the good life they now enjoy.
If they ever existed.

Interesting note from my own experience: I have met and worked with many Iranians over the years and every one of them was a regime hater. Unlike the odious palestinians who unite in being hateful in just about all their aspects, the Iranians I know are all pretty decent people. I have trouble imagining any of them getting here and leaving on their hatred like, for instance. Sayed Qutb.
