I am sensing a very different pattern to the array of news from this war. Nobody is sitting pretty this time with their own Wolf Blitzer reporting from Tehran and what news does filter out of organs of disinformation, shading and flat out fabrication don't seem to have anything but rumors and innuendo to report.
On the other hand, this is the war that Russia and Putin wish that they had waged against Ukraine. Do the decapitation and do it long and hard and then drop a couple of airborne divisions on the capital and send Wagner up the middle. Ukraine does not have the regional warlord infrastructure that littered Afghanistan and Iran. With an absolute command of the ether Russia could have tracked down and destroyed every replacement Zelensky and every new and acting head of the military components and field commanders. For all their fearsome reputation as significant actors in deep penetration and cyber warfare, they don't seem to be in the same league as US and Israel. I'm surprised by that.
I have to admit, I'm also surprised by the relative absence of Iran's favorite warriors in this conflict. Sure their terrorist commandos have been gutted and destroyed in Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen but I was sure they had lots of true believers here in America ready to act. Post war analysis will be fascinating. As it is I've been impressed by just about everything and really impressed by the Combat Search and Rescue guys.
