Anybody who has studied the origins of the First and Second World War can clearly point to all the signals that both sides sent prior to embarking on hostilities and in hindsight it is clear that nobody on the other side was listening or comprehending what they were hearing. In short, it's just like a normal day of politics except in these cases as nations slide into war, it is more important to listen to the actual words that your opponent is sharing. They're not asking for a rebate, a new election or for you to hold the elevator. They are imparting deadly information and hoping that you are listening.
Regrettably, nobody in Europe is listening, again.

There's an old question about "What would happen if they declared war and nobody showed up?" That's pretty much the situation for all of the EU.
The world is a very different place today than it was in 1914 and 1939 especially after a century of down-playing nationalism, no young person is going to go to war just because their President or PM says they should. In Germany everyone knows there's nothing the Government can do if people refuse to register for the draft...keep in mind women and anyone who identifies as trans are not required to register..so it's a massive loop hole.
Russians have historically never been the enemy of Europe, in fact it's always been the other way around with the French and then Germany invading Russia. So this idea Putin will somehow roll into Germany is non-sense. He's spent four years proving he can't even take a half baked country like Ukraine.
The EU has bigger worries like how they're going to keep their economies running with massive spending debt and an ever growing costs of social services which provide zero to GDP. Meanwhile Germany is trying to figure out how to keep VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) from collapsing. As we all know, the big name automakers are the tip of the ice burg given the thousands of small suppliers all over Europe that supply them.
Generally, for every VW, Mercedes, Ford or Opel worker, there approximately 15-20 employees at various suppliers that are also at risk when the layoffs happen. So when VW announces 10,000 lay off, multiply that by about 15-20 for the real numbers of foreseen unemployment and job losses across the EU.
Germany is well inside the revolution/collapse event horizon. It needs a Milie or it’s going to get a real wire brushing from the communists running the EU.
That would be Javier Milei of Argentina and damn autocorrect.
Germany, despite it's current economic issues, is still the strongest economy in Europe. Even the chattering skulls in Brussels know which side of their bread is buttered.
You'll notice Mertz hasn't come out against Trump during all of this because we actually have a large number of US bases here which generate around $1.7 billion annually to local economies through jobs and services provided by German nationals.
I'm actually kind of surprised we have gone this far without WW3 becoming openly kinetic.
I just bought my wife a used Porsche Cayenne. Best car I’ve ever been in. Hope I can find parts…. .
