ON NEW YORK

It says a lot about how far New York has fallen from the haunts of civilized Americans when one considers that up until an hour ago I had real doubts that Daniel Penny would be found "not guilty" of the crimes that New York charged him with simply for riding the subway and doing the "right" thing. I pass through the Empire State from time to time but the last 5 years or so it has given me the same feeling that driving in the Kingdom or UAE did. I would ask myself if it was really necessary and yet there is only one way to Maine that makes any sense and that one involves New York.

Wall St. moves out of Manhattan in the very near future - odds: 3:1 even with DJT as POTUS

They need to find a state that is reliably trustworthy. It doesn't really matter if it is as crooked and corrupt as Illinois just so long as it is reliably corrupt and dishonest and doesn't try to get in the way of business as usual for the poobahs of the NYSE. Delaware and Texas are out but they might safely try Cleveland or Pittsburgh.

I visit my daughter in coastal New Hampshire. To avoid NYC I go via Hershey Pennsylvania. It is 40 miles further but almost a hour quicker as there are no toll roads and metro traffic.
