Off tonight on a slow train to the Coast. We'll be on the road back from San Diego doing a drive by of the West and the mid-West. Not going to miss this place too much. We got another 6 inches of snow today on top of the existing 12". I haven't been able to make my car move in almost a week. It's frozen in place until the Spring thaw.

Here's wishing you 'warm feet' at the end your trip (isn't it around 22'F- in San Diego this time of year?)… Fortunately the snow queen has overlooked us lesser mortals residing around east Yorkshire, though she has blown her iced breath through our nether regions.
We enjoyed the West a lot. It was mild and warm all the way to Fort Riley and even then it was good until we reached Ohio where I70 shut down. We bailed onto route 79 and made good time to Columbus, Ohio on open roads at highway speeds until after Columbus when we hit Mansfield and a white-out of epic proportions. We carried on until we got home. Follow the truck was my mantra. Trucks have elastic collisions with junk ahead. Don't be the junk. Follow the truck.
Hardly anyone drives across the country anymore. They really don't know what they're missing in the west.
