A DEMOCRAT DESCRIBES FASCISTS

Henry Wallace was FDR's vice president for four years. He was a hardline communist and FDR wisely decided to ditch the man and his followers when he ran for his fourth term. This is how Wallace describes a fascist.
A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends. The supreme god of a fascist, to which his ends are directed, may be money or power; may be a race or a class; may be a military, clique or an economic group; or may be a culture, religion, or a political party.
In my lifetime the fascists took to the streets in giant screaming mobs filled with hatred for ordinary patriotic Americans. They pretty much looked like the people calling themselves Black Lives Matter or Antifa today. They are indescribably intolerant of dissenters who don't agree 100% with their demands and they are ruthless and vicious as only mobs can be.

It's funny to me how they keep trying to raise up various 'fascist straw men' and demand that we understand that they are only rioting, looting, burning cars and businesses because they oppose the evil bastard that is in the White House. Funny how they completely fail to see themselves as the actual enemy of democracy and the American Way even as they rant and rave and attack innocent people they find on the street.

Wallace wanted us to know what fascists looked like if we found one on the loose. Here's his description from 1944:
The perfect type of fascist throughout recent centuries.... (is) willing at all times to engage in any degree of deceit and violence necessary to place his culture and race astride the world..... The hoodlums who have been desecrating churches, cathedrals and synagogues in some of our larger cities are ripe material for fascist leadership.
It's interesting to me that lies and deceit really only come from the political class and almost entirely from the left.  There's a reason for that. When a political class liar from the right is caught in a lie, and they always are, the jackals in the media hound him or her right out of office and political life.
The dangerous American fascist is the man who wants to do in the United States in an American way what Hitler did in Germany....The American fascist.......method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public into giving the fascist and his group more money or more power.
The media is the current perch for the arch-fascists in America. They have married into the political and ruling class of the left and they preach the gospel according to the most bigoted, close-minded and illiberal people of the 20th century. You simply have to watch the paroxysm of rage shared by the media and liberal elite every minute of the day on television, cable, internet, New York Times, Washington Post and all the other liberal bastions to see how they are playing by the rules Wallace laid out for them over 70 years ago.
American fascism will not be really dangerous until there is a purposeful coalition among the cartelists, the deliberate poisoners of public information, and those who stand for the K.K.K.  (explicit racist) type of demagoguery.
Well we've got that in spades now, don't we.
Still another danger is represented by those who, paying lip service to democracy and the common welfare, in their insatiable greed for money and the power which money gives, do not hesitate surreptitiously to evade the laws designed to safeguard the public from monopolistic extortion.
Isn't that just precisely what we have now? The fascists are Congress and the entire political class? Ever wonder why all those bankers didn't go to jail for life after the housing bubble collapsed?
The symptoms of fascist thinking are colored by environment and adapted to immediate circumstances. But always and everywhere they can be identified by their appeal to prejudice and by the desire to play upon the fears and vanities of different groups in order to gain power.
Just which group out there is now exploiting race and appealing to prejudice on a daily basis?
The American fascists are most easily recognized by their deliberate perversion of truth and fact. Their newspapers and propaganda carefully cultivate every fissure of disunity, every crack in the common front against fascism. They use every opportunity to impugn democracy.....
....They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective toward which all their deceit is directed is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection.
In large part they are doing this very well at one level and roiling the base of all sides at the other level. They bring home every day the adage that you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time.

I would like to see more men and women of good will run for office but the media and the various sharpshooters in both parties make a point of picking them off early as too callow, too dimwitted, too trusting, too ignorant, etc. Look how they portrayed a neurosurgeon who ran for president. Look at how they disparage Rand Paul who is, in real life, an eye surgeon.

It would be nice if the people currently agitating for removal of a duly elected president turned their attention to the way their sort of stupidity plays out when the ones who preach tyranny and wage war against civil society win the contest. They don't have to look any further than Detroit, Puerto Rico, Cuba or Venezuela to see what happens to any society when the real fascists win power.
