REMEMBER WHEN

This was the first place I turned to for the headlines 15 years ago and now look at it.

The nazi salute is just skimming the depths of the madness that the popular media has perpetuated on an increasingly uncivil mass of lunatics, idiots and morons. Look at the headlines! How detached from reality are you to believe a single word of that nonsense, and yet if your X feed goes sideways and you see the stream of conscious thought-free drivel from the wide open aperture of X, even then it is not as awful as the new Drudge makes it appear.

I understand why those who loved NPR and PBS saw little to no bias there because I know some of those people and they get all their news and information from sources that are exactly as informative and unbiased as PBS and NPR. They read the NYT and some of them read the Washington Post and they'll be damned if they'll believe any nonsense about them being uninformed or misinformed.

Some people claim that Mark Twain said no such thing but I don't think they know what they're talking about. I read it in the paper.

"The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them".

However, this is actually:
"I will add, that the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods & errors."
-- Thomas Jefferson to John Norvell, June 11, 1807
