I sometimes screw up and leave my X thing in the "For You" instead of the "Following" mode when I check out and then I find myself exposed to the unbalanced 99% and that can be a little awkward because I usually think that the people/accounts I do follow are sane or at least amusingly unbalanced. This is just a minor bump in reality but I see that things are definitely going off the beam in both the wider world and in the more balanced one I peer into every day for just a little while to see what it going on out there. Right now people who should know better are going a little crazy.
I honestly don't know what made them think that anything associated with Epstein would ever see the light of day but a lot really thought that the high and mighty and the all-powerful movers and shakers were going to get indicted and charged and find themselves in court facing some sort of charges for giving money to what we once used to call, 'a financier.' Never even mind what services were rendered or if they were rendered just think of the naivety that would lead any right thinking American to think that this could or would ever happen.
I see that once again those people's counterparts are signing up apparently in droves for individual flying lessons in Russia and throwing themselves out of tall buildings. You see how that happens right? That is old school justice being meted out to those who failed. It used to be like that here too but mostly the untouchable here live forever but for them it becomes a sort of Hell on Earth because they fade away and all the influence and power they once had at their fingertips just slips away and they become the evil shadows of the magnificent malignant evil they once were. You know them, the Clintons, Soros, Obama and in fact, ALL of the old movers and shakers of the Democratic Establishment. The same thing happens on the right side but they have so much less far to fall and generally slip away entirely within a year of their downfall.
I am surprised that the old Government "Run Them Over with a Car" division has apparently ended that practice and other than Kennedy I don't think they moved into the "Kill them in a Plane Crash" division as practiced in your swankier African States and Pakistan. There haven't been all that many, "Body Guard Snapped and Killed Them All" for some time and the last couple of times I think that was just the top level in India and maybe in Thailand. Flying Lessons never really caught on here for some unknown reason but these days we can reliably count on the good old, "Dropped Dead of Suddenly" division to clear up most of the more malignant mouthy versions of demons on Earth.
The kind of effort put in for the Show Trials of the Century to nail obvious scumbags like Comey and Brennan and frankly everybody else that served in the Clinton, Obama, Biden or first Trump cabinet is just too horrible to think about, but we will. 100% obviously, it would all come to nought since there is not a single jury in the history of the world that would unanimously find any of the Top Level Scumbags guilty. It would be one hung jury after another of dashed hopes and the sudden slow dawning realization that Justice really is an impossibility at that level and won't happen this side of Hell.
I can live with all that.
People forget the simplest things these days. High on the list of things that must be kept in mind is that it really is not our job to punish the guilty in every case. Nobody thinks we got all the top Nazis or even levied justice on those that were unbelievably evil but that also applies to all the evil Japanese that escaped the war with their lives, if not unscathed. This is why a lot of people cling to the idea of an afterlife. The better people look forward to seeing all their loved ones again but there are some who live for hate. I don't want to be that kind of person.
It is just about impossible to watch the news but I find it can be quite damaging for me to keep going back and dipping into the wells of information that I have used up to this point because some of them take on all the aspects of the broadcast and cable news channels. I don't need that.
I am thankful that I have a blogroll of interesting places by interesting people who post interesting things and that each of them has a blogroll of perfectly good sites that I browse through from time to time. They make for amusing, insightful and interesting reading and offer up the food for thought I enjoy.
I have to admit, I am enjoying the budding Trade War™ as the tariffs always appear like a distant mirage and then they are suddenly right in front of us and then there they are back on the horizon. I don't think there has ever been a master who played the news cycle as precisely and beautifully as Donald Trump. He can with a brief comment take the entire days production of HATE NEWS ABOUT HIM and turn it off because he just shifted the ground/continent right out from under the feet of the news boffins. Remember Wag the Dog? They had to start a war to get the news under control but Trump can literally step out of his office, call some idiot an old idiot and that's it, that's the news.
I do sometimes wonder who was behind getting all of Western Europe's leaders to set about destroying their own countries. I think that madness is now far beyond anyone's ability to repair short of the really old methods and let's be honest, modern Europeans are nothing but twatwaffles at this point. There isn't a real man alive anywhere on the continent west of Vienna. It's like all the real patriots died in the World Wars or left. It's kind of a shame because I really enjoyed my visits there and walking in and around the things their ancestors left behind from centuries and millennia before they vanished. I'm not tempted to go back. Whoever is responsible for getting England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland to destroy themselves almost overnight should definitely be the entire focus of all those divisions I mentioned above. Somebody that evil really needs to be destroyed.

I too shake my head at some folks mocking "fell out the window" method of dealing with scum YET bewail that our Epstein folks will never see justice.
I shake my head that we feel the need to tell other countries how to fix their political problems (like uncontrolled immigration) yet we have divisions HERE fighting tooth and nail to prevent Border Patrol from turning them over to ICE for disposal.
Shumer was correct 10 million folks are going to LOSE their Social Security BUT nobody in the Media will point out those LOSING are Illegals.

Back when things got too evil and stupid, folks would up sticks and move elsewhere. If lucky or really desperate, they found some un- or under-populated place and built something worthwhile....until scumbags moved in or multiplied amongst the decency. Now, where can one go and be left alone? If one cannot go, one must be careful and quiet, and preserve decency as far as one is able. Sure, I'd keep the lampposts occupied with traitors and parasites and perverts, if I could. At the moment, it means within my four walls and within my personal space, meaning my ability to preserve decency by enforcing it or avoiding it. So, in my limited sphere of influence, I am so far successful. I am not alone. When the intrusion becomes too much, I will either prevail or die, but I will not surrender. As for your most heavily armed and legally protected freedom, which resulted directly from all our eurofuckery.....how is that looking? You of all people are best placed to clean house....so why don't you?

There will be no accountability for the elite. Never has been. My issue is the promise of accountability we were given. I tend to be an oddball about that kinda thing.
Deliver what ya say ya gonna deliver. Or tell me how hard you tried to keep that promise you made. But don't just brush it off like you never said it.
It tells me that our education system here is broken at its most basic level. It fails to teach reading and writing but more importantly it fails to teach the civics and ethics and even the morality of a bygone age but that was the age the left most loves to hate and despise and yet they all fail to perceive what it really was because hatred masks all other things.
The Age they hate is the time of slavery here in this America and they cannot even conceive that it was fought tooth and nail by not just the Abolitionists like John Brown and his sons but by vast swathes of men in the Union and Territories. These were the men that came of age and learned from the masters who rose to fame and prominence in the Age of Reason who wrote just about everything we believe today and which no public school teaches anymore. Nobody reads Locke or Rousseau and nobody reads the Federalist Papers and nobody reads the actual history because they are all taught the public school version where every single thing that is hateful was the fault of white men and they must be held accountable.

What can I do about it? Well I try the various things in my power and try to keep the worst elements (democrats) from running this country any further into the ground. As with building anything, it involves necessary trade-offs. We now have purists too dim to see that and who think it is an all or nothing proposition. That was the Revolutionaries and as bad as things appear, we aren't looking at Revolution, because what would follow a declaration like that is a civil war.
Thanks to the idiots in public education Americans are only dimly aware of a civil war and it would blow their minds to realize that there have been thousands and thousands of civil wars and by and large they all ended very very badly.
I have some ideas on all that and agree with you. We have run out of places to take our differences in opinion on governance away from those we disagree with. That has happened endless times before and will happen again. It is never a good thing. Boyle's gas laws apply to society and entropy runs downhill. I'm not seeing anybody/place making a foundation on which to rebuild a civilization but I can tell at a glance that Europe is far deeper into the mire than we ever will be over here and that this time the consensus is once again as it was in 1914, to let Europe solve its problems in their own way.
From here it looks very much like all the limits to power are off in Europe. Europe is essentially broke and the people don't know it. That''s an issue that will hurt us a bit but nothing like when the USA goes broke and admits it.
Who is 'wargaming' that scenario right now to see what it will take to fix the world again? If you recall that was the whole upshot of Bretton-Wood and it basically made the world we live in today. That world was 100% built on the USA as the Reserve.
The nihilist generations we have brought into being the Gen X, Gen Y and Gen Z are not going to pay the bills run up by their ancestors and the thing is, nobody can make them. Expropriation is a wonderful tactic in a tyranny, harder to do in a heavily armed society and useless when the nihilists have cottoned on to a basic fact most people don't even see, much less accept. "If I don't have anything of value, what can be taken away by the State?" "I will never own property or a house and the work I do is simply for the things I consider the basics (and oh yeah, they consider air conditioning, cars, cheap gas, the internet, high-end phones and data pads as 'basics') but still, they are not the ones that are creating the billions that the ruling elite need to fund their schemes.
History shows what happens when the generations diverge rather significantly and that is happening all over the developed world.
