NOPE, I DON'T BELIEVE IT

I don't believe for one second that Ghislaine Maxwell killed herself anymore than I believe that Epstein killed himself or that her father Robert Maxwell fell off his yacht and drowned. Nope.

That's what's different this time. Nobody believes the stories they're telling, but yet, they keep telling them.
Its like watching the little kid w/ frosting all over his face try to reconcile why it is you won't believe him, when he swears to you he doesn't know who ate the cupcake.

I can safely say I believe nothing any government, any media or any politician anywhere says until verified with my own eyes. Also, I don’t think I’m the less for it.

I keep telling John over there in X that he is considerably less in touch with current reality then running gcaptain and being the voice of US Shipping would lead anyone to believe. There are a few rules in a bureaucracy and high on the list is do not get over your skis. Slow and steady, palms greased, rice bowls topped up and spread the mordida to every good Senator and good Congressman and frankly, I don't think the shipbuilding States we have now are worth the powder and shot to blow them up. Thus you see the angst about opening up both non-Jones Act rice bowls and violent opposition to anyone trying to Kaiser the shipbuilding industry again. God they hated that man.

The skilled tradesman to do what John wants don't exist at ANY level in the industry now. The merchant marine is a very old man's game now, the ships have been run harder than conscionable for decades now and the tradesmen to build and man such ships simply don't exist and cannot be willed into existence because that upsets way to many established rice bowls.

Shipbuilding is not a "key man" type of enterprise. At the warship level it takes a solid design and getting Congress to approve the long lead items a full decade ahead of keel laying. How do you think that works in the Congress? I read Sal's complaint today about the Cruiser debacle we're going to see *again* and the simple fact of the matter is that 100% of the people at NAVSEA need to be turned out to pasture. They are actively getting in the way of ALL efforts to do anything. I never dealt with such useless people in my life as I did when I had to deal with NAVSEA and SUPSHIP.

If you read John enough you will also know that the USN is scrapping those old replenishment ships just as fast as they can and they have done nothing at all about Red Hill. You know what that tells an old historian? Well, it's a lot like some Athenian general giving the order to burn all the ships on the beach at Pireaus before they can launch the Expedition to Sicily. Everyone who is stupid and in DC seems to be thirsting for a war with China over stuff that is in no way a concern of ours and the Admirals are outflanking them all by quietly eliminating every storage tank of DFM and F76 that they can get their hands on and scrapping every replenishment ship with scuffed paint or some other tragic flaw that demands it early and immediate retirement and SCRAPPING.

It is possible that I am too cynical but that's what I think in the dark hours of the night while reading old books.

I dip my beak into unfiltered raw X from time to time by mistake and the levels of hatred and disdain for Trump and MAGA is almost unbelievable. Every single one of them believes every single lie told by the lying liars and sycophants of the left. They believe it ALL. On the gripping hand they're vocal but only about 19% of the country now so with luck, we can take them.......oh, yeah and we got all the guns. Nevermind. :)

I was reading about a family that once lived not far from here and produced 8 children all but one of whom seems to have died childless and one of the 3 grandchildren died in Army hospital of the Influenza in 1918 in Central Park NY. When they passed away without any local issue in the late 20s and 30s about 10 miles from the 6th richest city in America, they still lived on their 80 acre farm in the home they build for their parents and it still didn't have electricity or any other modern thing because they didn't think they needed it. I'm starting to see their point. They were all wealthy, thrifty and generous to their neighbors and left everything to the town when the last of them died to be used as a park forever.
