THINGS HAPPEN

In a couple of days Ohio's new universal concealed carry law goes into effect. I think that we will stay home for a few days. in my experience newbies ventilate the living hell out of things when they start carrying a weapon in public. Just like the bad place you don't go, most places are going to be somewhat dangerous around here. There is no license, no training required, just strap it on and ventilate. I imagine the police and security around here are having nightmares. Good.

  1. Can't be any worse than the fentanyl addicts running around these parts of the Buckeye with sawed off shotguns .

  2. Texas didn't have an increase in shooting when we went to Constitutional carry last year.

  4. The places you shouldn't go to will be the same places where you shouldn't be in the first place. I suspect that unless you go into inner cities to buy drugs or pick up whores, you don't have much to worry about. Though I wouldn't want to be in any major urban area after dark.

Some people, some cultures, some "communities" just can't handle responsibilities that accompany rights. It was true in the past and it is true now.

IMHO, there are just a lot more people who never adulted and are way too sensitive about their own failings as human beings. The projected lifespan of those folks is shorter when everyone can be strapped. Which is all for the better. Just stay out of the line of fire so you don't become the collateral damage of the "innocent bystander."

  5. Guys, I was the Operations Officer for Mobile Expeditionary Security Group One, formerly known as Naval Coastal Warfare Group One and we had a brand new Mobile Security Squadron of active duty sailors and it was like nothing I'd ever seen. In two weeks they had 7 accidental discharges just among the teenagers. It's not me reacting to the pleasure of real carry and the 2nd Amendment, it was kind of a prayer to the Lord that those fucking idiots don't kill innocent bystanders because they don't know the first thing about carrying a loaded weapon. You have no idea how dangerous ignorance is. My Scout Master in Fort Riley was a Sergeant in the Army when I was 10 and we shot .22 rifles every week at the range. I know about weapon safety because I was taught. This state is going to be dealing with idiots who bought a gun or wear one "just to be safe".
