I just read elsewhere, I'd post the link if that was remotely possible, I just learned/saw that the BBC has taken one of my favorite books, THE NIGHT WATCH by Terry Pratchett and made a movie about it. You know, I usually put titled works in italics but blooger has made that impossible too since it is now just html text and frankly, who can bothered to recall something one hasn't used in over 10 years. Here is a quote from a commenter at a nameless place on the net.

It's deeply hateful is what it is. I agree with the other commenter there who asked a simple question; why would you watch anything put out by studios today? Well, to be honest, we watch what we like on netflix and amazon and that seems to be enough entertainment. It's not like we could go to the movies even if we wanted to.

By the way, have you read "Strata"? Pratchett wrote it before the Discworld stories, and it features a disc world.
I think I'll stick to Sir Terry's books. Better special effects, anyway.
