PROPER BACK YARD HOME AND GARDEN

We don't garden anymore
It's like a modern anthem
We have better things to do
Than herd plants around the yard.

There's chairs aplenty
More upon the wall
and when they're used
More can be found in the garage.

A Leaf, a bough and thou

Very nice!

(Seems to have the benefit of lower maintenance as well.)

Oh yes. I remember these oases scattered around my grandparent's yard in Carlisle. They looked idyllic and peaceful and then there were the little fish ponds that looked great,,,,,,,,but leaked. And there were two little boys who were always pressed into service to weed, mow, fix leaky ponds, tar the drive ways..... It was all OK as long as we got to ride the old tractor which was needful on account of the little wagon it pulled that could be filled up with stone and cement patch and weeds and grass.....I mowed that little patch in about 3 minutes on Monday and that's enough. That's more than enough. It's a great place to sit and read the paper and drink coffee and catch some rays.

Great photo - it took a lot of work for us to not do anything and just let things grow up as they will - and create our own little forest. I love it.

All I can say is that you all were brilliant gardeners. My hat's off to you.
