HMS Defiant: HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Truth: Clear and Simple

"If a mural of a young, innocent woman killed in cold blood divides your community, you have a shitty community."

—The Drunk Republican

"The Law is too important to be left to the judges."

—D.C. Whalen

“The dark night of fascism is always descending in the United States and yet lands only in Europe.”

—Tom Wolf

“Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom."

—Friedrich Hayek

“Equity” means “ruining everything but pretending it’s for fairness.”

I seek no better warrant than my own conscience.

Nothing is achieved before it is thoroughly attempted.

Nemo me impune lacessit

I stick to wholly natural foods like croissants and cream puffs, and chocolate eclairs, and french toast with slathers of butter and maple syrup. Natural. That’s how I am.

What beauty is, I know not, though it adheres to many things.

One of the lessons of history is that nothing is often a good thing to do and always a clever thing to say.

The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable.

I knew from elementary school that I would live to see the first man land on the moon. I did not expect to see the last one.

In the wake of Mueller investigation: “Democrats lost an election they rigged, and now Democrats have lost an investigation they rigged.”

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H.L. Mencken

"Any company that has a commitment to diversity necessarily lacks a commitment to excellence, or even basic competence, and which will eventually have very negative consequences for its products and services."
— Vox Day

Others have noted that once you fail to select for competence you get incompetents. It is the same with selecting for excellence. Once you no longer make it the focus of your effort it quickly goes away.

There are three co-equal branches of government; the judiciary is not supreme.

I used to have this mental illness where l thought logical arguments could help reason with someone.

The difference between socialism and communism is that socialists will take your money and give you nothing while communists will take your money and shoot you.

— Sir Winston Churchill

A Great Victory

“You may triumph on the fields of Pelennor for a day, but against the Power that has now arisen there is no victory!“

When you think about it, the Wise in conclave, decided that the thing to do after this great but meaningless victory was to advance deep into enemy territory and fight a battle that they knew they could not win.

Using a 1955 World Atlas they found in a ruin, islamic terrorists selected the leading industrial city in America on which to target their wrath and their first atomic weapon. They picked Detroit.

“118 years from the first flight of fixed wing aircraft to flying helicopters on another world. Very impressive achievement of the West. Recall that Egypt's hydraulic civilization lasted virtually unchanged for over 4000 years and they were the leading light of civilization for most of that time.

“I shall not undeceive future generations. I could not tell the truth without giving great offense. Let the world admire our patriots and heroes.” —- Charles Thomson
