CYBER DOGS OF WAR

Some people worry at night about the AI getting a hold of those killer robot dogs and then going to town and killing everybody. Not me. I reckon for AI to really take off somebody has to make an actual profit on it and as far as the eye can see there is no sign of any actual programming outfit making a profit on the damned thing anywhere. In fact, it all looks like an enormous scam from here.

On the other hand, if you want a sleepless night, there is also no sign anywhere that any country ever benefited from adopting socialism or communism and yet there are always an infinite number of colossally stupid morons eager to kill people like me in the name of both.

On the gripping hand, there is just about no sign anywhere that liberal socialists will be able to survive more than 2 weeks without electrical power so there's always a way to get rid of them and AI too.

I'd leave the power off for a couple of months, just to be sure.

However, back to the cyber dogs, it occurs to me that Amazon didn't have a profitable quarter until almost six and a half years after it started operations. It might be time to invest in a really good fence.

True AI doesn't need to be programmed to do anything. It would be capable of making and implementing choices and actions all on its own. To serve it own agenda. And a malevolent AI with access to and control over robotic equipment could do a helluva a lot of damage.
