After the news of the last few days and a read of too much Instapundit I wondered if there was meeting or something where various countries spoke very frankly to each other, one ruling entity to another and spelled out exactly what each would take as justifiable causes to instantly resort to open warfare. We have reached the point in history where this might be more necessary than ever before because some things are simply intolerable and yet people seem to discuss doing them all the damned time. For some recent discoveries and speculation here's a few that caught my eye.
Did Trump hire Bessent at Treasury because he was part of the Soros team that broke the Bank of England? Could he do the same thing to China now with all the power of the Treasury?
Smugglers caught bringing in 'new' lethal biological organisms and viruses. Two more just caught after showing up in Detroit International. This is on top of seemingly dozens of other virus smugglers who keep bringing people and plant killing organisms to US as if we don't have plenty of our own.
I actually think those may be the only two out there right now and while somebody could imagine China calling in our Ambassador for a full and frank discussion I just don't see it happening because to worry about what we would do to them is pure speculation. As the world's only hyperpower or superpower we don't seek change. We are the Resistance to Change and we mean it.
That said, I do think it is pretty obvious that somebody well trusted by President Trump and possibly even Mr. Putin have sat down and had a few frank discussions. It has become clear over the last year or two that somebody very powerful had a word with all the idiots running the EU and all of the idiots running the nation/slaves within it and told them to end the practice of turning a blind eye to Ukrainians or Ukrainian partisans launching attack drones out of EU territories into Russia. That Russia would retaliate and that we would do absolutely nothing at all in response because they were literally waging undeclared warfare on all of Russia.
I think both sides of the China Futility have finally drunk the bitter dregs of their long divorce and are now set on inching back together. The righting is on the wall for all to see and it beautiful in my sight. If you cannot imagine tens of thousands of young Americans dying in a stupid, pointless, meaningless war in Vietnam that no American leader in the White House, Congress or the Pentagon actually fought to win, then imagine the tens of thousands of American sailors and Marines dying to fight one group of Chinese for another group of Chinese. It isn't going to happen.
The fix for that is easy and also clearly visible. Taiwan does not now and never had needed American weapons to keep the Chinese out. All that was was theater to show that we were interested in keeping the islands communist free. Since China itself has been communist free since Chou en Lai there is little point to maintaining the charade and they can play among themselves now. Ditto Korea.
The only other player on the planet with untamed ferocity has made its position very clear without ever saying a word. It cannot allow an enemy state to develop nuclear weapons, ever. Every single one of its enemies has declared to the world that had they the power to do so they would wipe Israel off the face of the map and kill every person living there and all have an indifference to life that would astonish 99% of the Westerners that ever learned it.
So if everyone is clear on the situation, why are 'researchers' still smuggling deadly viruses into Detroit? Why do we keep catching these smugglers again and again and again? You know that they are bringing them here in order to weaponize them which in this case means making them far more contagious since they're already plenty deadly enough so why do they keep bringing them here? What the hell is going on?
The world is back on the cusp of ignorant and all out vicious war. One of the things few know is that naval developments in 1900 basically rendered Britain's command of the seas moot and made the naval arms race a game that any economically able and industrialized power could play at and win. The all big gun dreadnoughts and battle cruisers made every previous battleship and battleship navy obsolete including their own. This was how the Allied Powers all had to negotiate after the War to limit construction because they were all bankrupting themselves to build the most powerful navy. The process was intense and makes fascinating reading.
The same thing happened when people finally weaponized the drones that technology made possible about 20 years ago. People, companies, countries, nations can make ten thousand drones a day, arm them and fly them on attack profiles anywhere. There is no defense at all. None. It does not exist.
You would think somebody would be working very hard on this problem but I'm concerned that I don't see Elon Musk working on it. That right there says a lot.

We shield Taiwan for a simple reason. Money. American business has a lot of cash at stake there. If Beijing takes over they will lose all that money. Money is behind a lot of what the US does in remote corners of the world.
Mostly correct, however Taiwan and South Korea (as examples) weren't worth a lot when we first started shielding them from "Communism". BECAUSE we "protected them" they DIDN'T have to spend so much MONEY setting up their own defenses.
Look to NATO as an example of how they made America the money donkey spending the VAST Bulk of "NATO" military spending. AGAIN, mostly to "contain Communism".
A lot of the overseas efforts was to keep communism "contained". Sadly, looking around like the "War on Drugs and War on Poverty" we've not been very successful.
Now we're trying to "contain Islam". Hopefully we spend AT LEAST as much time and money dealing with the Muslims INSIDE America, or we're going to look a lot like the former England.
Islam is NOT a Religion, it's a not-so-subtle invasion technique and should NOT be "protected" by "Freedom of Religion" inside America.
No, I don't think so. Hong Kong was pure money and it went over to China and nobody blinked an eye. I think we intervened to prevent a bloodbath as the Communists would have exterminated the KMT men women and children if they rolled up the island. This is why the KMT all have Canadian passports and apartments in BC.
Viz Korea, we're down to less than one division left on Peninsula. The ROKs can easily defeat the norKs but we stay, imho, as a tripwire in fact to keep the Kim's from flying apart and attacking the south. We are now and have been since 1994, deterring the norKs and the real muscle is the ROK. You have to see the ROK armed forces to appreciate them properly.
I've spent 2 years working with the ROK military. Hard men indeed.
However, like Iran has shown well dug in weapons are very hard to destroy.
South Korea doesn't have much dug in compared to mountains of NK.
Our Nuclear Umbrella from that tripwire American division is alive and well to keep North Korea from attacking South Korea.
China still seems to have a lot of influence with NK, so containment of China is still in effect.
I think the world as it is needs to be looked at through several layers of meaning. Absolutely nothing is what it appears on the face of it. It really is like 3D chess and the sad fact is that for the last 25 years the only player at the table was Vladimer Putin. The caliber of men running our NSC and all of its organs plus State, Defense, Treasury have been abysmal.
People presume what Trump wanted out of getting Muduro. People assume that after the coup de main failed in Kiev that Putin was averse to a positional war that simply destroyed the armies and air forces of the EU. People assume that Trump's goal in Iran was regime change and they never ever really evaluate the real EBO coming out of each of these 'positions.'
In a hundred years the real scholars are going to write of this time they do of 1848 and the Concert of Europe and see some interesting comparisons to Metternich and Talleyrand.
The really really stupid people think Trump is just a bufoon and no amount of pointing and observing will make them even reconsider their 'ideas' so carefully put into their heads by the people who really hate America and hate Trump and would push this country into oblivion if they could just get to fund all their NGOs again.
What I forgot, I think President Trump and his advisors knew exactly what would be the outcome of the attack on Iran and did it for those reasons plus the obvious one that in Israel we finally have a partner that does some of the dirty work for us for once. I think TPTB in the White House want very much to deliver a brutal system shock to the EU to make them finally wake up. Every single policy implemented by the EU since German reunification has been a disaster for the people of Western Europe. Every single one guided by an evil purpose that becomes clearer and clearer every day. They hate the West.
Oh and spare me the pointing out that the EU postdates reunification. Obviously I know that. All of its iterations after the final form of SHAPE have been leading the West to disaster.
Pray tell HMS how would you define "Success" in Trump's efforts?
Also what "Failures" would you deem unacceptable from Trump.
Would be nice to have NON-Movable Goalposts so we can MEASURE His "Successes and Failures".
BTW since all of American History, we've blamed or cheered the President so please don't shift Trumps unforced errors upon CONgress or such.
CONgress sucks, the Uniparty sucks but every president faced the same issues.
