I seldom ever hear my own constant ringing anymore until I read something like this and there it goes again for a couple of hours until I forget about it again . And yes , I have questioned my sanity , heh .
Congratulations! After I left the USN, many years ago, I had a constant 400Hz buzz in my head from working IEMD-level avionics. Not maddening, but annoying, & it took years to leave. I can imagine your relief. --Tennessee Budd
