I used to be a security manager at a major command. I understood the rules of OPNAV 5510.1H. I don't understand how a domestic warrant is Top Secret NOFORN. Those were terms that defined information that was very restricted but it was classified so our enemies couldn't access it. How did domestic shit get classified TOP SECRET NOFORN?
We have a problem Houston. Politics isn't supposed to be Top Secret NOFORN. When you go there, you get the honey badger of democracy.
I had a TS when I was in the service, I was a crypto technician. When the Magic box that provided this cycles spark didn't work I was the guy that fixed it. I also had the additional duty of being the COMSEC courier - additional scrutiny.ReplyDelete
I see so much that is wrong with the classifications of material and people who still have an active clearance who shouldn't. There is a lot wrong with what is going on in DC.
I'm pretty sure my clearance is expired. That's the way it is supposed to work. Automatic downgrade of TS to S after 5 years. Automatic downgrade of Secret to Confidential after 10 years.Delete
Why the hell any fuck that left government service to go back to civilian life with an active TS is a mystery to me. I don't think civilians think of security clearance as a real thing.
I did get a kick out of first ship though. Guys who would not give me time of day asked me to send absolutely no security clearance holding firemen air conditioning techs to SESS to fix their AC. I had no problems with the guys in SESS, they used to phone me and let me know things that were useful in a warzone.
