HMS Defiant: AND I WAS THERE

She was the Rose and morphed into HMS Surprise. All of a sudden

I knew her in Newport, met her again at NASCO. Oddly enough, I bumped into one of my chiefs who was working at the yard at the time. I went aboard a few years later when she joined the museum at San Diego. I knew one who sailed on her off the coast of Maine.

Who knew she would be a movie ship?
