I notice that my sister sometimes starts a slow Monday on her blog with a photograph of some elegant cup of coffee she just bought somewhere. Me, not so much. On the other hand, the barista handed me this on my out the door at the coffee shop many years ago and it serves very well for my daily needs and rarely shows so much as a hint of foam or swirl of hidden meaning. I'm actually kind of impressed that the thing still transforms to full color even after 9 years when hot liquid is added.

Heat activated I'd guess.
Really nice, I'd buy that even if it was not activated.
I had a color change coffee cup. It was white when it was cold. When heated it turned Air Force Blue and the JCSE patch would be visible. It slowly stopped working over a month after I had it for 2 years.
