Well, it didn't take long did it? Every single officer involved in killing our enemies is now accused of war crimes and there will be investigations. Nothing will gut a military faster than breaking faith with your soldiers that they will not be used as political pawns in pointless games played by politicians. When Judge Napolitano comes out and declares a reattack on an enemy vessel is a war crime there is a social failure on a massive and damned near unfixable level.
Right off the bat it calls into question the deterrent patrols. It opens the door to endless post facto prosecutions of every single shot fired in the last 80 years and it must be crushed right now at the outset or there is no defense. This is not a time for pussyfooting around and narrowly edging or trimming to appease stupid people.
The problem is that right now there are zero men of the stature necessary to knock this on the head and put it away. There is no George Washington, Eisenhower or MacArthur and there is zero credibility in the legal profession as a whole or in part and the Church pissed away every scrap of moral authority it ever had over the last 30 years.
If soldiers fear that they will only meet endless legal retribution and attacks for their actions, we have lost. This is the goal sought for all these decades by the left and the liberal machine. The military was the last crutch propping up the idea of a State and if falls there is nothing left.

I find I am unable to agree with Judge Napolitano; the Gulf of America is home to several species of sharks: Bull Shark, Blacktip Shark, Spinner Shark. Atlantic Sharpnose Shark, Finetooth Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Scalloped Hammerhead, Great Hammerhead, Tiger Shark, Lemon Shark, Nurse Shark, Sandbar Shark (Brown Shark), Blacknose Shark, Florida Smoothhound (Smooth Dogfish), Silky Shark, Dusky Shark, Sand Tiger Shark (Ragged Tooth), Shortfin Mako, Thresher Shark, Goblin Shark, Whale Shark, Basking Shark, Great White Shark all of which require sustenance.
If providing a weapon to a person who employs it to kill is a crime, isn't providing drugs (highly addictive poisons) a crime as well.
Andy: you're a bright, articulate guy and I hope you never have to watch an otherewise intelligent, close family member die slowly from drug addiction. Anyone involved in the drug trade, especially those providing these slow poisons to our population, should be put up against a wall at the target range:
just my opinion.
This is just one of the many tools of the left in their quest to destroy America. And since we refuse to lock them up for THEIR incessant criminality they will eventually succeed.
The only lawful orders will be the orders from the Left's commissars. All orders from Trump will be found unlawful.
Since I have been reading about this, I wonder if the fellow that ordered the 2nd attack did it knowing it would make trump look bad. There has been talk of offices swearing allegiance to a political party and not the president.
I have no idea how it played out but based on my experiences in Praying Mantis the goal was the total destruction of the Iranian navy and warships that we found on the open sea and with a ship on fire from the bridge all the way to the stern there was still time, room and an A6 available to drop a bomb on the forward gun mount. The SAG nearest me used 3 missiles on one of the gunboats after it launched a missile at them. The order was to destroy the boat in both cases and neither was wrong for continuing to fire until the boat was destroyed. That is war.
Maybe it's time the military learned to stop posting on social media and just did their job quietly. Like that British citizen who got arrested in the UK for posting pictures of himself shooting guns in the US. It's not an issue with politics, it's an issue of knowing then to keep your mouth shut about what you do and sharing it with the world on social media.
The old saying 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" only works if you don't post it all on social media. Duh!
Concur with your viewpoint.
