Next time one side plays chicken with everybody’s lives and shuts down the whole government in a snit, send every single air traffic controller home and don’t resume non-military flying until the entirely politics driven “crisis du jour” is over. I figure that will last at most one or two days.
You don't have to be smart, clever or fast, just ruthless. A lot of people don't know that.

A most reasonable solution for the next similar occurrence that's bound to happen. And with flight cancellations due to shortage of ATC staffing, it occurs to me that overall, airlines may well operate more efficiently with reduced schedules.
Air traffic control and the tsa should both be run and paid for by the airlines.
Cost would be added to ticket prices rather than all of America paying for something that only some of us use.
Needless to say it would be run much more efficiently without govt involvement.
Charlie, TSA would be axed in a month as less than useless by private businesses.
Can anyone actually point out a "successful terrorist" intercept in the years (maybe a decade) they have been molesting, err protecting, yes, protecting us?
The last 5 weeks has NOT been an actual shutdown. Just political posturing. I wouldn't mind seeing an actual full on shutdown. Wake some people up.
